Enzo Fernández has commented after Argentina’s World Cup final loss.
Fernández was red carded against Spain in the World Cup final after receiving two yellow cards. The Argentine posted on his Instagram after the match. Here is what he had to say:
“As time passes, you realize there’s something much bigger than a result. For years, this group has represented our country in the best possible way. It has shown that competing isn’t just about winning but about giving everything for the jersey and never giving up.
“I’m proud to be part of a group that has always stood up, competed at the highest level and defended these colors with pride, humility and commitment.
“I want to thank all the Argentine fans. Thank you for always being there, for supporting us in every match, for your love, for your unconditional support and for making us feel at home anywhere in the world.
“Wearing my country’s jersey is the greatest honor of my career and I will continue giving everything every time I get the chance to defend it.”

We love you Enzo ❤️ Thank you for your goals and your passion 🙏🏼 Thank God you Argentinian 🇦🇷
It’s simple:
– Scaloni showed all the worst attributes of some former successful coaches: Bilardo (negative 90 football), Bilesa (stubbornness), Pekerman (subbing in a crucial game), Sabella (getting scored in extra time).
The failure of this world cup started years ago.
– AFA wanted to make money and organised games against weak opposition for money.
– Scaloni didn’t integrate new players, didn’t test enough, selected old players, injured players, out of form players, and ignored in form players.
– Every coach has this one or two players who are simply not good enough but still start: Nico gonzalez, sosa, meza, almada, etc…
Before the England game i thought he would start Nico and i wrote against it. The pattern was always play Nico forced to not play him next game because he wasn’t good, than play him again. How about giving someone else those chances?
As soon as I saw the line up My expectations were very low.
As soon as Lisandro got injured my expectations were less: noticed the Belgium game pattern.
As soon as we used the subs it went even less.
and as soon as we got red carded we should have known we would lose.
Scaloni and Messi failed to show leadership!
As coach and Captain you must control the behaviour of the players.
You must accept the truth!
Our players behaved shittty people man.
there was a hate campaign against us because of refereeing: Yes Messi should have got a yellow card, Yes the goal against Austria shouldn’t have stood because that was the same situation as the cabo verde goal.
Every other decision was correct expect for some dumb actions by touching players or kicking them in areas where it wasn’t even necessary.
Celebrations got out of hand by provoking opponents mocking them.
As mentioned earlier we had an organised campaign happening against us and what do we do? we put fuel to the fire!!!
This is where Scaloni and Messi failed!
Yes we won so much but even though we won on the way we beat them, kicked them, boxed them, provoked them, mocked them.
Because of the respect Messi had some referees ignored and closed eyes and we thought we could do that forever.
We created a lot of enemies.
We created the atmosphere where the referee can hand a card like he did against Enzo by complaining which would have never happened in another atmosphere in a world cup final. The coked up referee was happy to show the world I act against these thugs and everybody was happy and praised him because everybody wanted us to lose.
In the end we played like chicken, shameful football, reckless behaviour by nagging and we lost.
The whole world is happy.
we thought we could win by showing no respect and in the end we lost everything: the title, Messi’s individual prizes and for some even devalued the 2022 win.
I don’t know whats next. Scaloni is not perfect but he was the best of all previous coaches, if he steps down and none of his staff like Placente take over than we won’t get a good coach.
Hope for the best and best wishes to you guys. It was a pleasure sharing love for the team with you.
Couldn’t summarize it any better
It’s harsh! The player are normal people, and very emotional ones. Yes, they are fueled by the dirty campaign and as much as they engaged it got worse and worse. Let alone, the stupid intervention of the politicians. Scaloni did try to control but at the end of the day he is a coach. AFA is responsible for this but they fail to: release firm statements, request transparency from FIFA, and especially have psychologists onsite with the team.
Please respond to this message Albiceleste family instead of posting new ones so we can find out what happened. Does anyone know or has heard of what Scaloni was referring to and Messi was addressing about “something that happened” before the game? Any insight? Thanks.
