Alejandro Garnacho scored in Chelsea’s 7-0 win over Port Vale at Stamford Bridge as the team advanced to the FA Cup semi-finals.
The Argentine winger came on in the 61st minute and was involved in the final play of the match. Garnacho received a pass from Liam Delap on the left side and entered the penalty area. Defender Magloire made contact with his left foot and the referee awarded a penalty.
Garnacho took the spot kick and converted. It was his eighth goal of the season and his first in four matches.
Enzo Fernández did not play. The midfielder served the first of a two-match suspension and remained on the bench during the match.
The suspension was applied after comments made following the international break, in which Fernández stated that he would like to live in Madrid due to similarities with Buenos Aires. Head coach Liam Rosenior said the comments crossed a line.
Chelsea move on to the FA Cup semi-finals. Their next Premier League match is against Manchester City.

Put to rest this myth that Nico Gonzalez can play as a left back against quality teams at the highest level. This can only work against teams like Puerto Rico and Zambia. Coach Simeone tried to do Scaloni a favor and it backfired. Nico Gonzalez was shown out multiple times against Yamal until he was eventually sent off..
As for the games against Zambia and Mauritania, I haven’t seen any improvements. Forget the Zambia score line, all you need to do is put some better players in the position the Zambia and Mauritania attacking players found themselves in and you’d see how much trouble this Argentina team would have been in.. Before Messi scored the second against Zambia you could see the worried look on Scaloni’s face and the others on the bench/touchline. The Argentina NT wing position is none existent, this is a very important position at the World Cup. The lack of quality wingers is obvious. The team is too slow and lacks the right amount of energy.
