Facundo Medina to start for Argentina vs. Algeria

Facundo Medina is set to start for Argentina against Algeria.

Medina will start in place of the injured Nicolás Tagliafico. According to Gastón Edul, Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni will play Facundo Medina as left back in a four man back line.

He will play on the left with both Cristian Romero and Lisandro Martínez as the center back duo.

    At some point the favoritism would cost us and force a watershed moment like the 2022 opener against Saudi Arabia. I can only hope this time it is not already too late.

    • Two things:
      1) Its not just about goals and assists. You dont need all your forwards to score and assist. There is something called balance.

      2) You cant make a great team with players in top form who never played together, team work and chemistry are important.

    • Agree. I don’t think we have the most performing squad. We can only hope Almada and Nico rise above their club level performance. But Medina in place of Tagliafico is not a good choice at all.
