Nico Paz spoke about playing at the World Cup with the Argentina national team and following in his father’s footsteps.
The father of Nico Paz, Pablo Paz, played at the 1998 World Cup with the Argentina national team. Nico Paz started for Argentina in their 3-1 win against Jordan at the World Cup. Speaking to Diario Olé after Argentina’s win, here is what he had to say:
“It’s incredible, to be able to follow in his foot steps is a source of pride for me. He’s helped me a lot in my life, he’s given me advice and today, he told me to stay calm, to enjoy it. And that in the end, it’s a unique situation that many people would love to be in. That’s why I enjoyed it so much.”
He did enough to make his father proud. However, there were also moments when his passes were easily intercepted by the opponent and in some cases the passes were so casual that his comrades struggled to get possession. Hope he would play bigger roles for the national team in this tournament and beyond.
