Leandro Paredes started Argentina’s 3-1 win against Switzerland at the World Cup.
Paredes was initially yellow carded for a tackle during Argentina’s 3-1 win against Switzerland but the referee reversed the decision. The yellow card was reversed and instead given to Breel Embolo who was red carded. Speaking to Doble Amarilla after Argentina’s 3-1 win, here is what he had to say about the match:
“We always suffer. We are doing something incredible, another semi final. It’s a day by day enjoyment.
“We don’t give importance to the opponent, we are focused on the match, that we knew was going to be very difficult.
“I am well. I finished the match well, just tired.”

Scolano does not have a plane. He will field the same old tired legs.depaul is useless at all today. Always giving back passes to Emi who eventually lose the ball by a long range one.enzo and McAllister are also out of form which led loosing the ball several times.couldnt hold a lead of 1 goal. Looks like Argentina did not wanna play foot ball. They are lucky that Switzerland did not create lots of chance. Why scolani always brings same starting 11 and same substitution.
Leandro Paredes was outstanding once again. His composure, positioning, and defensive work stood out.
But our overall struggle against physically imposing teams continues, and England will present exactly the same challenge—only with even greater quality.
They have pace, power, and three world-class match-winners in Declan Rice, Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham. If we approach the semifinal with the same midfield balance, we risk surrendering control once again.
I feel Scaloni needs to rethink the starting XI. Unless the Enzo–Mac Allister partnership suddenly rediscovers its rhythm against their EPL counterparts, it may be time to consider a different midfield combination. At this stage of the tournament, reputation cannot outweigh current form.
