  1. The two biggest positives from this match? Both our strikers found the net despite Messi having one of his quieter games, and, most importantly, we’re through to the semifinals.

    But beyond that, there are reasons to worry.

    England, with Bellingham, Kane and the rest, are playing a far more controlled and cohesive brand of football. They combine technical quality with physicality, and that’s precisely the kind of opponent we’ve struggled against.

    After the way Switzerland bullied us physically and dragged us through 120 exhausting minutes, the semifinal looks like an even tougher challenge. If we don’t regain control in midfield and become far more compact defensively, England will punish us much more ruthlessly than Switzerland did.
