Lisandro Martínez could return in end of October

Lisandro Martínez could return on for the Argentina national team and Manchester United by the end of October.

Martínez has been out with a knee injury since February and he could be returning onto the pitch soon. According to TyC Sports, the 27 year old is back on the pitch training with a ball but not doing full football work.

He underwent an MRI last week with the results coming out no problems.

Matías Soulé’s agent has stated that he would have the possibility of being called up by the Italian national team.

Soulé has been in great form for AS Roma. He has scored three goals and has two assists in six league matches but has not played yet with the Argentina national team. He is not with the Argentina national team in Miami for their two friendly matches against Venezuela and Puerto Rico. Speaking with Corriere dello Sport, here is what his agent Martín Guastadisegno had to say:

“He’s been working really hard for the national team. He’s the only one among the young Argentine players who hasn’t played a single minute yet.

“He’s becoming a leader in an important team like Roma and deserves an opportunity.

“He’s Italian-Argentine and I don’t know what could happen if the situation with Argentina doesn’t change. As of today, everything is open, legally, he would have the possibility of being called up by the Italian national team.”

Argentina vs Puerto Rico friendly moved from Chicago to Miami

Per reports by journalist Gaston Edul, the friendly match between Argentina and Puerto Rico, scheduled for Monday, has undergone a change of venue.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni has mentioned that he will try to see new players against Venezuela and Puerto Rico.

The Argentina national team will play Venezuela on October 10 in Miami and will plau Puerto Rico on October 14 in Chicago. Speaking to the media on Tuesday, here is what Scaloni had to say:

“We will try to see new players with these upcoming games, to see if they can get on board, as we say. We feel that every time there’s a match with this jersey, whether it’s an official competition or a friendly, it’s something unique.

“For us, there are never friendlies, not for the players either, and they know that very well. They’re in an important moment for what’s ahead, and they know there’s a lot at stake.”
