Diego MARADONA: “I’d coach Argentina for free”

19

Diego MARADONA took to Fox Sports to discuss Argentina’s National Team job.

MARADONA compared himself to a few coaches in the world and went as far as saying that he would coach the team for free. Here’s what he had to say:

“SIMEONE wasn’t interested in Argentina job for financial issue. But money is not an issue for me. I’d coach Argentina for free. A lot of people seem to think I am an expensive coach. But what about MOURINHO? And ANCELOTTI or SIMEONE?”

“I don’t know how expensive I am compared to these coaches. I am starting to miss coaching more and more. I miss working with the players and fighting with the journalists.”

Axel WERNER: “Atletico is a dream”

Rumors of Atletico Madrid wanting to sign Argentine Olympic goalkeeper Axel WERNER.

Atletico de Rafaela goalkeeper could be going to another Atletico side but one in Spain. Axel WERNER is being linked to Atletico Madrid. According to reports, Atletico would buy WERNER and loan him out. The goalkeeper himself actually commented on the rumors in a recent interview with AS in Spain. Here’s what he had to say:

“I know that joining Atlético is a possibility; both sides are open to the idea. I’m taking it all in my stride, with calm. It’s really nice for me, it’s recognition for the work I have put in and for the perseverance and effort I have made.”

“I feel very proud knowing that Atlético want me. I admire the work SIMEONE has done; as a coach he’s someone who is obsessive about his job and that’s just one of his qualities. He has given everything for football as a player and now as a coach. “Effort cannot be negotiated” is one of his phrases, isn’t it? I share that mentality completely. These are the kind of people who triumph and reach the very top. He’s Argentinean, he’s also a symbol for the national team and he is representing us in the elite of world football. It would be a dream to be coached by him.”
