Rodrigo DE PAUL heading to Udinese

According to reports, DE PAUL is currently in Italy to join the club.

Rodrigo DE PAUL will sign a one season loan deal with Udinese which will cost them about 3 million euro’s. The winger is still owned by Valencia and spent the past 6 months on loan at his boyhood club Racing Club in Argentina.

It is unknown whether or not Udinese will have a buy option in the contract.

Eduardo SALVIO shines for Benfica in win

Eduardo SALVIO assisted and scored for Benfica in their 4-0 win against Derby County.

SALVIO scored Benfica’s fourth goal in their 4-0 win in the Algarve Cup against English club Derby County. SALVIO assisted the third goal and scored the fourth (a great run accross the area and a tap in finish) to seal Benfica’s victory.

SALVIO also had this little piece of trickery in the match.

Argentina Olympic team in the USA

The Argentina Olympic Team have landed in the United States.

The team have landed and are currently in Boca Raton, Florida preparing for their friendly matches against Colombia and Haiti. The team already trained on Monday, doing light work. At the end of the training session, the team was greeted by 1986 World Cup winner Oscar GARRE.

They are staying at the Renaissance Hotel in Boca Raton.

BURRUCHAGA, PUMPIDO for Argentina

Yes, you read that correctly.

Apparently, Jorge BURRUCHAGA and Nery PUMPIDO (both from the 1986 World Cup winning team) are being considered for the Argentina coaching job. There seems to be a weird obsession within the AFA and the 1986 team (hiring back-to-back coaches in Diego MARADONA and Sergio BATISTA) and now these names surfacing.

From the initial names being rumored of Jorge SAMPAOLI, Marcelo BIELSA and Diego SIMEONE to BURRUCHAGA and PUMPIDO. While there was some hope of one of the first three taking the job (as small as those hopes were), we went from those names back to the 1986 generation.

Lionel MESSI up for Best Player award

Lionel MESSI has been nominated for another award.

Lionel MESSI is up for UEFA’s Best Player in Europe award. MESSI has won the award twice (the most of any player). He was the inaugural winner of the award in 2010-2011 and is also last year’s winner. Here are the ten nominees.
