Emiliano Martínez has been named as The Best Goalkeeper in the World.
Martínez was named as The Best Goalkeeper in the World for a second time on Tuesday. The Argentine was previously named The Best in 2022 after the World Cup.
With the Argentina national team, Emiliano Martínez won the Copa America and was also named as the Copa America’s best goalkeeper.
Alejandro Garnacho has won the Puskas award for Goal of the Year.
Garnacho has won his first Best trophy, winning the Puskas award. The Argentine scored a bicycle kick for Manchester United against Everon last season, the goal also being named as the Premier League Goal of the Season.
Sony Pictures Television and Sony Music Vision have unveiled “Messi and the Giants,” a new sci-fi animated series inspired by Lionel Messi and targeted for kids. Disney Branded Television has acquired the series, which will premiere on Disney Channel and Disney Channel On Demand before becoming available globally on Disney+.
The story follows Leo, a 12-year-old boy transported from Argentina to an alternate universe where he must lead a fight against the Giants, villains controlling the 10 realms of Iko. Each 22-minute episode explores universal themes of teamwork, perseverance, and determination, delivering a coming-of-age journey for young viewers.
Lionel Messi expressed his excitement for the series, stating:
“I always dreamed of being involved in a project that would share the values of sports, the very same values that have been so important to my career, with younger generations. Nothing truly is impossible with teamwork, perseverance, discipline, and hard work. I look forward to sharing this series with kids around the world, and I hope I will inspire them and motivate them to achieve their own dreams. Enzo Fernández had an assist for Chelsea in their 2-1 win vs. Brentford.
Fernández has made it seven assists and three goals in his last seven games for Chelsea. With Chelsea leading 1-0, Enzo received the ball in his own half and played a through ball in to Nicolas Jackson who scored to give Chelsea the 2-0 lead.
The Argentine has three goals and four assists in his last seven matches in the Premier League.
Nico Paz scored for Como in their 2-0 win vs. AS Roma.
Paz got his second goal for the club, scoring in their win. With Como leading 1-0 and with AS Roma having all their players in the Como half, it was a counter attack by Cutrone and he passed it to the Argentine who scored to give Como the 2-0 lead.
Paulo Dybala started for AS Roma and Matías Soulé was substituted into the match.
