Thiago Almada and Alexander Barboza won the Copa Libertadores with Botafogo against Atletico Mineiro in the final. Despite Gregore of Botafogo getting red carded two minutes into the match, it was Botafogo who scored first.

At 1-0, Botafogo were awarded a penalty kick and Alex Telles scored to give them the 2-0 lead. Eduardo Vargas would score Atletico Mineiro’s only goal and Junior Santos would score the last goal for Botafogo and they would win the Copa Libertadores.

Almada has won the Copa Libertadores with Botafogo and the World Cup with the Argentina national team.

Álvarez scored twice for Atletico Madrid and Mac Allister scored for Liverpool in their win against Real Madrid with both players included in the team. Both Álvarez and Mac Allister also won Man of the Match awards.
