Alejandro Garnacho and Walter Bou nominated for Puskas award

Alejandro Garnacho and Walter Bou have both been nomimated for the 2024 Puskas award.

Garnacho is part of the nominees for the Puskas award for his goal with Manchester United against Everton. Garnacho scored a bycicle kick last year for United and that goal was voted as the Premier League Goal of the Season.

Walter Bou was also nominated for his goal with Lanús against Tigre. He controlled the ball with his chest and hit a bycicle kick.

Gio Lo Celso scores, sent off in Real Betis’ 2-1 loss to Mladá Boleslav

Giovani Lo Celso had a bittersweet evening, scoring a stunning goal before being sent off in Real Betis’ 2-1 away defeat to Mladá Boleslav on Matchday 4 of the UEFA Conference League.

The Argentine midfielder, recently back in action after recovering from an injury, gave Betis an early lead in the 17th minute with a brilliantly taken free-kick that curled over the wall and into the net.

However, frustration boiled over late in the match. In the 88th minute, with Betis trailing 2-1 after conceding twice in the second half, Lo Celso made a reckless challenge from behind on an opponent near midfield. The referee wasted no time in showing him a straight red card.

Fellow Argentine Ezequiel “Chimy” Ávila also featured for Betis, starting the match but being substituted off in the 55th minute.

Alejandro Garnacho scored for Manchester United in their thrilling 3-2 home victory against Bodø/Glimt on Matchday 5 of the UEFA Europa League.

The Argentine winger opened the scoring in the very first minute after capitalizing on excellent pressure from Rasmus Højlund and a costly mistake by the goalkeeper. Garnacho simply had to sprint forward and tap the ball into an empty net.

Fellow Argentine Lisandro Martínez also started for the Red Devils but was substituted in the 60th minute.

Manchester United’s win keeps their hopes alive in the competition as they eye qualification for the knockout stages.

Alexis Mac Allister scored and won the Man of the Match award for Liverpool in their 2-0 home win over Real Madrid on matchday five of the Champions League.

In the 52nd minute, the Argentine midfielder took the ball at the edge of the penalty area, played a one-two with Conor Bradley, and scored with a low right-footed shot into the corner to make it 1-0.

Mac Allister was named the player of the match and received an 8.7 rating on Sofascore. This goal marked his second in five Champions League games with Liverpool this season.

Ángel Di María assisted twice for Benfica in their 3-2 win vs. Monaco.

Di María had two assists for Benfica in their win against Monaco in the Champions League. With Monaco leading 2-1, Di María sent in a cross to Arthur Cabral and he would head it and score to draw Benfica level.

The Argentine would get his second assist of the match minutes after getting his first. This time on the right side of the pitch, he would send a cross in to Zeki Amdouni and he would score to give Benfica the 3-2 lead.

Nicolás Otamendi would also start the match for Benfica and Benjamín Rollheiser would be brought on as a substitute.
