The Argentina national team land in Miami for Copa America final

The Argentina national team have landed in Miami for the Copa America final.

Argentina are back in Miami and will await either Uruguay or Colombia in the Copa America final on Sunday. Lionel Scaloni’s team flew to Miami from New Jersey after their 2-0 win vs. Canada on Tuesday.

Thursday afternoon will be the team’s first training session at Florida International University.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni spoke about the team making the 2024 Copa America final.

Lionel Scaloni has now made three consecutive finals with the Argentina national team, winning the first two. Scaloni spoke to the media after Argentina’s 2-0 win vs. Canada. Here is what he had to say:

“This is something to be proud of. My gratitude is all for the players. We have been praised, we have been successful. And to get here after that costs twice as much.

“The bar is very high. Everyone thought it was going to be a bed of roses and it wasn’t like that at all. Canada proved it today by being a very difficult opponent”.

“We have a few days to rest. We will try to play a great game on Sunday.

“I think the team has done good things every game. It’s impossible to be disappointed with these guys.

Scaloni also commented on Ángel Di María:

“We have to let Fideo play, enjoy him”.

Ángel Di María spoke about retiring from the Argentina national team after the 2024 Copa America final.

Di María will play his last ever match with Argentina on Sunday in the final of the Copa America. The 36 year old has won everything there is to win with Argentina and he has once more confirmed that Sunday will be his last match. Speaking to the media after Argentina’s 2-0 win vs. Canada, here is what he had to say:

“Whatever happens on the 14th, I think I can walk out the front door. I gave everything

“I always gave my life for this shirt. There were times when it did not touch me and lately it has. I am grateful to everyone who supported me.

“The previous generation taught me about sacrifice and not giving up. This one gave me everything I was missing. It is difficult to make it. People are used to it, but it’s not easy. I’m not ready for my last game with the national team, but it’s time”.

Lionel Messi spoke about the Argentina national team qualifying for the 2024 Copa America final.

The Argentina national team will play in another Copa America final on Sunday. Julián Álvarez and Lionel Messi both scored for Argentina in their 2-0 win vs. Canada on Tuesday and will play either Colombia or Uruguay in Miami. Messi spoke to the media after the match. Here is what he had to say:

“It is crazy what this group has done, what the Argentine national team has been doing. After this, much more importance will be given to all the finals that I played and to all the players of the old generation.

“It is a difficult Copa, very hard, with a heavy temperature. The fact that we are once again in a final is to be highlighted”.

“I am aware that these are the last battles, and I am enjoying them to the fullest.”

Argentina qualified for the 2024 Copa America final in a 2-0 win vs. Canada with Lionel Messi and Julián Álvarez scoring.

It was a first half where Argentina had a lot of the ball and it was Rodrigo De Paul who played a cross in from deep to Julián Álvarez who controlled it and scored to give Argentina the 1-0 lead.

The second half would start with Argentina getting a corner kick. The ball would fall to Enzo Fernández and his effort on goal got a touchh by Lionel Messi on the way and Messi would score.

Lionel Scaloni brought on Nicolás Otamendi for Nicolás Tagliafico and Nahuel Molina for Gonzalo Montiel. Argentina would control more of the match and Scaloni would make more substitutions, bringing on Lautaro Martínez, Exequiel Palacios and Nicolás González for Julián Álvarez, Alexis Mac Allister and Ángel Di María.

Emiliano Martínez made a big save towards the end of the game and Argentina would win 2-0 to make the Copa America final.

Argentina will play one of Colombia or Uruguay on Sunday in the final of the Copa America.
