The game against Athletic Bilbao over the weekend left MESSI with various knocks and Barcelona wanted him to undergo various medical examinations as a precaution. After undergoing medical tests it has been confirmed that MESSI will be flying to Argentina along with MASCHERANO today and will arrive sometime early tomorrow morning. It has not been confirmed as of yet if he will start or come off the bench for Argentina’s first match against Uruguay. As always, we will keep you guys up-to-date.
Lionel MESSI is still in Barcelona and is a doubt for Argentina.
Reports in Spain are stating that Lionel MESSI is currently undergoing medical tests in Barcelona. Apparently, MESSI received many knocks during Barcelona’s La Liga match on Sunday against Athletic Bilbao.
As for Javier PASTORE, he has a calf injury and is a major doubt as well.

According to Hernan CASTILLO, Sergio AGUERO is out injured.
The tweet by CASTILLO states that AGUERO will not be travelling to Argentina to take part in the World Cup Qualifiers as he is out injured. With the squad selection being larger than usual (27 players called in total), it is unlikely that there would be a replacement called-up.
Nicolas GAITAN and Augusto FERNANDEZ are the first two to arrive to Argentina.
With the World Cup Qualifiers restarting this week, two of Edgardo BAUZA’s players already in the country. Both Atletico Madrid players landed just minutes ago and spoke to the media. Here’s what GAITAN had to say:
“Hopefully we can do everything possible to get the six points. I don’t know him (Edgardo BAUZA) and I’ve never worked with him. I don’t know what his idea is but we’ll get to know each other during the next few days. I think he’ll get the best out of every player.”

Mauro ICARDI and Sergio ARAUJO both got off the mark for this season.
Mauro ICARDI scored his first goal of the season (and also Inter Milan’s first of the season) with a close range header. Ever BANEGA also started and played the full 90 minutes in Inter’s 1-1 draw against Palermo.
Sergio ARAUJO scored his first of the season for Las Palmas in their 5-1 win against Granada.
