Lautaro Martínez scores a hat trick for Inter, becomes club’s all time scorer in Champions League

Lautaro Martínez scored a hat trick for Inter in their 3-0 win vs. Monaco and became Inter’s all time leading goal scorer in the Champions League.

Martínez had three goals for Inter to make it five goals in eight Champions League matches, four in his last two for Inter. They were awarded a penalty kick and Lautaro took it and went down the middle, scoring to give Inter the 1-0 lead.

With Inter leading 1-0, the ball fell to Lautaro inside the penalty area and his first time effort beat the goalkeeper to make it 2-0 for Inter. At 2-0, Inter played the ball from the back and it was an effort on goal by Mkhitaryan which was saved but the 27 would get the rebound and score.

The Argentine now has 17 goals in the Champions League, the most goals ever scored for Inter.

Giuliano Simeone scored and assisted for Atletico Madrid in their 4-1 win against RB Salzburg.

Simeone got his first goal in the Champions League for Atletico Madrid and also had an assist. Julián Álvarez played a pass in to Simeone and the Argentine would score from inside the area to give Atletico Madrid the 1-0 lead.

After scoring the first goal, Simeone assisted the second. A cross from deep by Rodrigo De Paul to Simeone and he would chip the goalkeeper and play a pass in to Griezmann who would score.

Emiliano Buendía joins Bayer Leverkusen on loan from Aston Villa

Emiliano Buendía has joined Bayer Leverkusen on loan from Aston Villa.

Buendía joined the Bundesliga champions on loan until the end of the season. Both clubs announced the transfer of the 28 year old but no mention of a clause was made. Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes had this to say about the Argentine:

“Buendia is a good, technically versatile player who plays in a passionate and assertive way. He’s played more than 100 games in the demanding Premier League and brings a lot of experience to help us immediately in achieving our goals.”

Teo Rodríguez Pagano scores for Argentina U20 in 1-0 win vs. Bolivia

Teo Rodríguez Pagano scored for the Argentina u20 national team in their 1-0 win against Bolivia.

The Argentina U20 national team have qualified for the final round of the South American Youth Championship after their win. Diego Placente’s team won 1-0 with a goal from outside of the penalty area from Teo Rodríguez Pagano.

Placente’s team will play Ecuador on Saturday.

Emiliano Buendía is close to joining Bayer Leverkusen from Aston Villa.

Buendía could be playing for the Bundesliga champions. According to César Luis Merlo, Aston Villa are negotiating the final details of a loan deal for the 28 year old until June with an option to buy.

The Argentine joined Aston Villa in 2021 from Norwich City but missed the 2023-2024 season due to injury.
