Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni spoke about the team, Lionel Messi, Julián Álvarez and Lautaro Martínez.

Lionel Scaloni is in Florida with the team. He spoke to the media on Sunday evening about the fitness levels of some of the players. Here is what he had to say:

“The situation with some players is not ideal. In some positions, we have doubts about the physical condition of some players.

“We have to cover ourselves in some way to make the final decision later. That’s why we have extra players.

“There are some players we need to evaluate due to their physical conditions.”

Scaloni was also asked about Lionel Messi:

“We see him well. It was an important for him to have continuity after his injury, he looks ready.

“He will join us tomorrow and we’ll talk more.”

The coach was also asked about Julián Álvarez and Lautaro Martínez:

“In recent months, Julián has played less but he had his matches in a strong team and Lautaro was the top scorer in Serie A.

“They are both welcome and we will decide game by game, as we always do.”

He also spoke about leaving Paulo Dybala out of the team and his own future as coach.

“Given the circumstances in the positions, especially in which we had some problems. We know what he gave us.

“There are decisions and we left Dybala out with all the pain in the world.”

The 26 year old has been called up to the Argentina national team for the friendly matches and the provisional Copa America team.
