Gerónimo Rulli expected to be called up for Argentina before Copa America

Gerónimo Rulli is expected to be called up for the Argentina national team before the Copa America.

Rulli will be returning to the Argentina national team after a year. According to Gastón Edul, Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni will be calling up Rulli to the team for their two matches before the Copa America in the United States.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni will be calling up four goalkeepers for the matches against Ecuador and Guatemala on June 9 and June 14, respectively. Those four being Emiliano Martínez, Franco Armani, Gerónimo Rulli and Walter Benítez, with one of them being cut for the Copa America.

The last time Rulli was called up for Argentina was in June 2023 for an end of the season tour in Asia. The goalkeeper got injured for Ajax during their first game of the season and was out for three months and eventually lost his starting spot in the team.

Álvarez has now won the Premier League for a second straight season. The Argentine did not play in Manchester City’s 3-1 win vs. West Ham but was on the bench for the win.

The Argentine finished the Premier League season with 11 goals and nine assists in 36 matches. He has now won the Premier League twice, a Champions League, an FA Cup, a UEFA Super Cup and a FIFA Club World Cup.
