Alejandro Garnacho has spoken about joining Chelsea.

Garnacho has joined Chelsea on a deal which will keep him at the club until 2032. Garnacho joins Chelsea from Manchester United and was at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea’s 2-0 win against Fulham. Speaking on Chelsea’s website, here is what he had to say:

“It’s an incredible moment for my family and I to join this great club. I can’t wait to get started. I watched the Club World Cup and to join the world champions is special – we’re the best team in the world! It’s amazing to be here and I’m very happy.”

Matias Soule scores for AS Roma in 1-0 win vs. Pisa

AS Roma secured their second straight victory in Serie A with a 1-0 win over Pisa on Saturday at the Arena Garibaldi, thanks to a decisive goal from Argentine forward Matías Soulé.

The 22-year-old combined brilliantly with compatriot Paulo Dybala to deliver the winning strike. In the 54th minute, Dybala, who had just come on at halftime for Stephan El Shaarawy, drove down the left flank and played the ball into Evan Ferguson. The Irish striker held it up inside the box before laying it off to Soulé, who arrived unmarked on the right and fired a low left-footed shot into the net.

It was Soulé’s first goal of the season, continuing the strong form he showed in preseason, where he scored three times in friendlies against Lens, Everton, and Neom Sports Club. The Argentine youngster has started both of Roma’s league matches so far, including their opening-day 1-0 victory over Bologna. Against Pisa, he not only scored the winner but also led the team in dribbles completed (7), ball recoveries (10), shots (5), fouls drawn (3), and duels won (11)—a complete performance that confirmed his growing importance for the Giallorossi.

Dybala, meanwhile, is being eased back into action by coach Gian Piero Gasperini following surgery on his left hamstring tendon earlier this year. The World Cup winner has come off the bench in both Serie A matches so far as Roma manage his minutes carefully after his long recovery.

Looking ahead, Roma will next face Torino at home on Sunday, September 14. Neither Soulé nor Dybala has been called up for Argentina’s final two CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifiers, with Lionel Scaloni’s already-qualified side set to play Venezuela (September 4) and Ecuador (September 9).

Giuliano Simeone scores for Atletico Madrid in 1-1 draw vs. Alaves

Giuliano Simeone’s early goal was not enough as Atlético Madrid were held to a 1-1 draw by Eduardo Coudet’s Alavés on matchday 3 of La Liga.

The 22-year-old forward, son of coach Diego Simeone, struck in the 7th minute after battling inside the box and finishing at the near post. Out of respect for his former club, where he played between 2023 and 2024, Giuliano chose not to celebrate.

However, Atlético’s lead lasted only seven minutes. Nahuel Tenaglia, another Argentine presence, was brought down inside the area by Alexander Sørloth. Carlos Vicente converted the penalty to level the match in the 14th minute, sealing the final score.

The clash at Mendizorroza was a meeting of two Argentine managers, with “Cholo” Simeone on the Atleti bench and Eduardo “Chacho” Coudet leading Alavés. Several Albicelestes featured in the starting lineups: Julián Álvarez, Thiago Almada, and Giuliano Simeone for Atlético, while Facundo Garcés and Tenaglia started for the home side.

For Atlético Madrid, the draw marks a third consecutive match without victory after a loss to Espanyol and another draw against Elche. With just two points from three games, the capital side currently sit 14th in the table, a shaky start to the new campaign despite the heavy Argentine presence.

Enzo Fernández scored and had assisted for Chelsea in their 2-0 win against Fulham.

Fernández made it two goals this season for Chelsea in their first three matches. In a match which had a Fulham goal disallowed for a foul, at 0-0, Chelsea were awarded a corner kick.

It was Enzo who took it and he crossed it into the penalty area to find João Pedro who scored a header to give Chelsea the 1-0 lead. Chelsea would take a 1-0 lead going into the break.

Early after the restart, it was a handball against Fulham as the referee went to VAR and Chelsea were awarded a penalty kick. It was the Argentine who would take it and he would kick down the middle as Leno would dive to the right and Enzo would score to give Chelsea the 2-0 lead.

Alejandro Garnacho was shown in attendance before the match as he is set to join them.
