Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni says Lionel Messi will play vs. Ecuador

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni has confirmed that Lionel Messi will play vs. Ecuador.

Lionel Scaloni spoke at a press conference in Chicago on Saturday after the team’s arrival to the city. Scaloni did not mention if Messi will start against Ecuador but he did sya that he will play. Here is what Scaloni had to say:

“The people will be able to see Messi tomorrow. He will surely play for a while. We are going to think carefully about the minutes that they will have so that we are ready for the debut.

“I imagine Leo (Messi) will play. I don’t know if it will be the entire match, 30 minutes, 60, but the people will be able to see him, that is the most important thing.”

Argentina back line to start vs. Ecuador in Chicago

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni reportedly has his back line which will start against Ecuador in Chicago.

Lionel Scaloni and the Argentina national team are in Chicago, Illinois for Sunday’s match against Ecuador and Scaloni appears to have his his back line in mind. According to Gastón Edul, the back line will consist of Nahuel Molina, Cristian Romero, Lisandro Martínez and Marcos Acuña.

As we reported, Scaloni has his midfield three also in mind for the match.

The Argentina midfield against Ecuador will consists of Rodrigo De Paul, Leandro Paredes and Gio Lo Celso.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni is going with a trusted midfield that he has used since the beginning of his tenure as coach. According to Gastón Edul, Scaloni will line up with De Paul, Paredes and Lo Celso against Ecuador.

Lionel Scaloni’s team will play Ecuador on Sunday, June 9 at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois.

FC Porto have made first contacts with Fernández.

The Boca Juniors midfielder could soon be joining FC Porto. According to Germán García Grova, the Portuguese club are advancing to sing the 21 year old.

They have opened formal talks to sign him and the first contacts were very positive.

Lionel Messi has revealed that he has not rewatched the World Cup final again.

Messi scored two goals in the 2022 World Cup final and lifted the biggest trophy there is to win in football but he has yet to rewatch the match. In an interview with Pollo Alvarez, Messi spoke about winning the World Cup and even playing at the 2026 World Cup in the United States. In the same interview, Messi stated he hasn’t watched the final against France:

“I haven’t rewatched the World Cup final again, not yet, maybe later. I’m not intrigued, my memories are in my head. I live it the way I have it in there, I remember what I remember.”

Presently with the Argentina national team, Messi is training in Miami.
