Lautaro Martínez not called up for Argentina, will receive treatment

Lautaro Martínez has not been called up for the Argentina national team as he will receive treatment.

Martínez is not part of the list of 21 players which have been called up for the Argentina national team for the friendly matches against Australia and Indonesia. According to Olé, Lautaro will be receiving treatment on his ankle.

The Argentine scored in the semi finals for Inter to reach the Champions League final but he will be receiving treatment on his ankle after the final in order to be ready for next season. He played at the 2022 World Cup on pain killers and Scaloni has decided not to call him up to give him a rest.

Argentina play Australia on June 15 in Beijing and will play Indonesia on June 19 in Jakarta.

Argentina team announced: Alejandro Garnacho, Walter Benítez, new faces included

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni announced his team for the June matches and there are several new faces in the team.

Lionel Scaloni has announced his list of 27 players for the June friendly matches against Australia and Indonesia. Scaloni has included several players which won the World Cup and some who were not part of the team.

Walter Benítez gets a call up to the Argentina national team and is the third choice goalkeeper in the list. Leonardo Balerdi returns after several years and he has been in very good form for Marseille this season.

In midfield, Scaloni has not made any surprise inclusions. In attack, Alejandro Garnacho is included in the team and Giovanni Simeone is in place for Lautaro Martínez who will miss out as he will get treatment on his ankle.

Federico Redondo performance for Argentina, comments on win

Federico Redondo was arguably the Man of the Match for the Argentina U20 national team against New Zealand and the Argentine spoke about the team’s win.

Redondo was one of the best players on the pitch for Argentina in their 5-0 win vs. New Zealand and despite not scoring, he stole the headlines. Son of the legendary Fernando Redondo, Federico continued to impress at the U20 World Cup. This was his performance against New Zealand:

The Argentine also completed 130 passes for Argentina vs. New Zealand, according to Opta and that is the most by a player at this U20 World Cup. He also spoke about the team’s 5-0 win:

“It’s always nice to wear this shirt. I believe we played a great game, we were able to capture the idea that we had.

“We went from low to high and now we have more confidence. To be champions, you have to beat them all so whoever we play in the Round of 16 will be fine.”

“It was a very good match. The team was very aggressive when it came to recovering the ball and fast in moving it.

“I’m glad that the guys who deserved more minutes were able to get them today and show their qualify. In this type of tournament, everyone is important and the performance of each one of them elevates the team.

“We already did what we had to do: win the three matches. Now we will see who we get. THe important thing is to rest and relax a bit.

“Starting on Sunday, we will know the opponent and we will calmly prepare for Wednesday’s match.”

Lionel Scaloni to announce Argentina list for June friendlies, rumored names

Lionel Scaloni is set to announce his Argentina list of players for the June friendly matches this weekend.

Scaloni is expected to announce his list this weekend with a few new names. Some new, young faces could be included in the Argentina national team after winning the World Cup, Copa America and Finalissima.

The Argentina national team will be playing two friendly matches against Australia and Indonesia in June and we could be getting some new faces in the team. According to Ole, most of the players who won the World Cup, along with Gio Lo Celso, Nicolás González and Nehuén Pérez are expected to be called up.

Alejandro Garnacho and Facundo Buonanotte, who were both not allowed to join the Argentina U20 team at the U20 World Cup by their clubs, could be called up to the senior team.

Lisandro Martínez is not likely to make the matches due to injury and Facundo Medina of Lens as well as Marcos Senesi of Bournemouth could also make the team.

Argentina play Australia on June 15 in Beijing and will play Indonesia on June 19 in Jakarta.
