The Premier League seasons begins on Friday with the reigning champions Julián Álvarez and Máximo Perrone against Burnley.

Current Premier League champions Manchester City play their first match of the season against Burnley, away from home.

Julián Álvarez finished last season with 17 goals and five assists in 49 matches for Manchester City, with him being brought on as a substitute in the majority of the matches.

Álvarez started the Community Shield match for City last weekend.

Máximo Perrone joined Manchester City in January of this year and took part in one Premier League match and one FA Cup match.

Enzo Fernández spoke about his position on the pitch, Lionel Messi joining Inter Miami and Maurio Pochettino.

Fernández will be starting his first full season as a Chelsea player and he will have a new coach. Mauricio Pochettino will begin his reign as Chelsea and and speaking in an interview with ESPN, Enzo commented on speaking with Pochettino and his position on the pitch:

“Pochettino and I spoke about where I feel the most comfortable. I like to play in a more advanced position and the function that I am going to fulfill this year is going to be that. Playing in a double five but with much more freedom.”

The World Cup winner also spoke about Lionel Messi joining Inter Miami:

“At PSG, he was not happy and now that he has changed clubs. He is happier and I am very happy for him, for the moment he is experiencing.

“He looks much happier, he is enjoying time with his family. I’m happy for him.”

Lucas Beltrán to join Fiorentina, reportedly more than €25 million deal

Lucas Beltrán is set to join Fiorentina for a deal reportedly worth more than €25 million.

Beltrán will be continuing his playing career in Europe. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Argentine will join Fiorentina from River Plate on a deal worth more than €25 million with add-ons.

The 22 year old will travel to Italy tomorrow.

Emiliano Buendía suffers “significant knee ligament injury”

Emiliano Buendía has suffered a “significant knee ligament injury” and will miss the start of the season for Aston Villa.

Buendía will not be in the Aston Villa team for their opening match of the season against Newcastle. The club has yet to announce how long the 26 year old will be injured for or a time frame.

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery spoke about Buendía at the press conference saying:

“We want to play, we want to face the match on Saturday, thinking to win, thinking to be competitive for him.”

Galatasaray are close to reaching an agreement with PSG over Leandro Paredes.

The Turkish club could soon be getting another Argentine player with Mauro Icardi. According to Fabrizio Romano, they are “on the verge” of reaching an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain.

Leandro Paredes himself has not agreed to personal terms with Galatasaray and he has contacts with AS Roma.
