Argentina to play October World Cup qualifiers at Monumental

Argentina will play three matches in October in the World Cup qualifiers with two of them at the Monumental.

Lionel Scaloni’s team will play Paraguay, Uruguay and Peru in October with Uruguay and Peru in Argentina. The first match will be against Paraguay on Thursday, October 7 before playing two home matches.

The second match will be on Sunday, October 10 against Uruguay and the second on Thursday, October 14 against Peru. The last two being at the Monumental. This would be the second match against Paraguay, with the first ending in a 1-1 draw.

It would also be the first match against Uruguay in these World Cup qualifiers but the second against Peru, with Argentina winning 2-0 in the first match.

In September, it was two away matches and one home match, with the away one against Brazil being called-off. November would have two matches, away to Uruguay and at home against Brazil as the final match of the year.

Paulo Dybala scored for Juventus in their 3-0 win vs. Malmo.

Dybala scored his first goal of the Champions League this season in his first match, a goal which gave them the 2-0 lead. With the score at 1-0, Juventus were awarded a penalty kick and it was Dybala to take it.

The Argentine converted his chance and scored as Juventus go top of the table, ahead of Chelsea on goal difference. Dybala was also named man of the match.

Tuesday and Wednesday see the start of the 2021-2022 Champions League and there are 24 Argentine players participating in the tournament this season.

Sevilla have the most Argentine players in their team with five of them, three of which won the Copa America with Argentina. And it’s Sevilla that play the first match of the Champions League when they host RB Salzburg with Nicolas Capaldo.

Lionel Messi will make his Champions League debut with his new club PSG when he, along with Angel Di Maria, Leandro Paredes and Mauro Icardi travel to Belgium for their match. Here are the Argentine players taking part in the Champions League.

Franco Cervi scored for Celta Vigo in their 5-2 loss vs. Real Madrid.

Cervi managed his first goal for his new club as he gave Celta the lead. With the score at 1-1, it was Cervi who scored off his own rebound. A low pass was sent into the penalty area and Cervi hit it with a back heel as his initial effort hit the post but he got to his rebound and scored.

Already 27 years old, Cervi joined Celta this season from Benfica, where he spent five years at the club.

Lautaro Martinez scored for Inter in their 2-2 draw vs. Sampdoria.

Martinez made it two goals in two matches for Inter in their draw. With the score at 1-1, a cross was sent in to Lautaro and his touch which was hit first time gave Inter the 2-1 lead.

Joaquin Correa was substituted on for Lautaro in the second half.
