Lisandro LOPEZ on target as Racing Club draw Tucuman in Argentina Superliga

27

The last match of the first week was between Atletico Tucuman and Racing Club and it didn’t disappoint.

Racing were all over Tucuman in the first few minutes of the match. Matias ZARACHO had a shot from close range which bounced off the crossbar as Tucuman were left off the hook. That was until former Argentina man Lisandro LOPEZ opened the scoring for Racing Club in the 28th minute with a lovely one touch shot which curled into the back of the net.

Gustavo BOU doubled their lead following an individual effort by Augusto SOLARI who played a simple pass to BOU and he had an open net in front of him to score.

Guillermo ACOSTA brought Tucuman back in it as his shot bounced a few times along the way before beating ARIAS. BOU nearly added a third shortly after but his effort hit the side netting.

David BARBONA finally got Tucuman level with a lovely effort from long range although it must be said that ARIAS should probably have done better on the shot.

Leandro DIAZ had the match winner and should have scored to turn the comeback into a victory for Tucuman but his close range effort went over the crossbar.

Gabriel HEINZE’s Velez remain top of the league table following their 2-0 win against Newell’s Old Boys with five teams tied for second position. Here are the league standings:

  1. Why they want again do the same mistakes? Why they want him so much despairingly? Especially now, for friendlies without matter when we finally have the chance to try new things. Why Scaloni want him to change his mind. Leave him now in peace. Do really they want him to back and score another hat-trick against Guatemala or Colombia as if it have had any importance. Let our youngsters grow now and depend on themselves:

      • Vargas is 2 cm shorter than Messi. Short but that prejudge nothing ATM

Barboza is like Pique. CB going forward. Taking penalties and freekicks. For me worth of NT chance. The same his CB partner Lisandro Martinez. Both great on passing. Especially Martinez.

    • For sure enough good to represent our U-20 team in Sudamericano and hopefully U-20 WC. He is one of the much expected Velez youngsters. Was in Russia as sparring partner of senior team. I saw even a article some pundit when he was named on long list players to call up in near future.

  2. No disrespect to anyone but what I’m hearing is: messi will have less Influence to national team that sources have said.
He only stay because he has good relationship with tapia that mean we won’t see a lot his friends like di Maria higuan aguero rojo so on which is good for the national team finally we will see good balance team no individual stars which is hold back our beloved albicelestes for yeras I said before and I’m said now I don’t care names again all I care is to see Argentina winning with attacking football hard working good young and faster players.

  3. @pipita, @sergio and others Superliga followers,

what do you think about winger Leonardo Sequeira from Belgrano? Category’95. He had tremendous preseason with goals and assists, not much impressive first round match but so much gifted player who seems to accelerate for some time. Physical conditions more like Brazilian player I think.

  4. And if there are already rumours about Matias Vargas going to be called up I really need to support any initiatives in that direction. By my profile photo as well.

He deserves. Most creative player in Superliga.

      • In Club he play usually LM/LF. Right wing as well. Vargas is better than Pavon. Icardi Lautaro, Dybala Pavon will not start together for sure. That’s too many forwards.

        ………………….Andrada

        ……….Mammana…….Pezzella
        Bustos………………………..Tagliafico

        ………………..Ascacibar
        ……….Lo Celso…….Paredes…….

        .Dybala………………………..Vargas

        …………..Icardi/Lautaro

Vargas may play also in 4 man midfield.
Besides no one said he will start since the first time.

    • Vargas had an explosive last season with Velez but to be honest I would still pick Cervi, Ocampos and A.Correa ahead of him……at least for now. The one player from the Primera that I want to see in the NT is Gonzalo pity, it’s time for him to be called up.

  5. Few appetizing games in next round:

    Racing – Velez
    San Lorenzo – Lanus
    Estudiantes – Boca
    Newell’s – Independiente

  6. Matias Zaracho had very good performance finally with assist and few good moments.

Daniel Barbona from Atletico Tucuman (Estudiantes product) is still not that wasted talent. Once created for Veron successor has his impressive moments in Tucuman.
