Edgardo BAUZA reveals who his number 9 will be

Edgardo BAUZA loves to talk and this time, he revealed who his starting number 9 will be.

As Argentina prepare to take on Peru this week in the South American World Cup Qualifiers, there were question marks as to who the starting striker will be. Gonzalo HIGUAIN, Lucas PRATTO or Lucas ALARIO. Speaking with TyC Sports, BAUZA revealed who it would be. Here’s what he had to say:

“If he’s well, the number 9 will be HIGUAIN.”

About AGUERO:
“Playing a bit behind (the number 9), he can have a great match. In place of MESSI, it could be DYBALA or Angel CORREA. I’ll decide once I see them.”

“I’ll see how KRANEVITTER is and if he’ll start with MASCHERANO in the midfield. KRANEVITTER isn’t the same as BANEGA, but tactically speaking, they’re similar. Peru attacks with a lot of bodies and Argentina will have to be well organized.”

Talking about the famous list of 60 players:
“I’m paying attention to all the players. There’s a lot of them playing at a very good level. We have a list of 60 players we are following. There’s players doing really well at the moment, like ACUNA and BELLUSCHI and we are following them.”

  1. I like Bauza 4-2-3-1 combination so hardly any player marked unlike 4-3-3. I don’t understand why argentine coach chose Higuain over Aguero in NO9 when many maneger claim Aguero is 3rd best behind messi/cr7, 2nd highest Fifa rated argentine after messi in pep area Aguero will reach another lable

    • Higuain Vs Aguero

Higuain needs less shot to score a goal.
Higuain has the best minutes/goal ratio.
Higuain has better shot on target percentage.
      Higuain can head better.
      He is more mobile.

      Aguero is injury prone.
      Aguero Not far behind Higuain.

Big difference: Aguero normally doesn’t miss easy chances…but Higuain does…!

      Thats my opinion..:)

      • Overall in every competitions (championship, national cups, european cups) Aguero in Atletico Madrid (as SS behind mainly Diego Forlan) 170,8 minutes per goal, in Manchester City (as CF) 108,2 minutes per goal (in Premier League 106,9 which is the best performance in PL (1992-) history. Better, than Shearer, Henry, Van Nistelrooy, Luis Suarez etc. In NT 124,5 minutes per goal, in important matches (WC, Copa, WC qualifiers) 161,1 minutes.

Higuain in NT 145,2 minutes per goal, but in important matches, he’s better than Kun so far 134 minutes per goal. (vs 161,1)

Higuain in Real Madrid 131,0 min, in Italy (Napoli, Juventus) 117,7 min.

  2. Aguero is the 2nd best striker after suarez when messi arrives Aguero must start above higuain next two games is very crucial for Dybala hope he scoor goals for argentina even with the absense of messi Argentina team looks solid Dybala Aguero Dimaria Higuain/pratto

    • I disagree, Higuaín although stinks, he’s a better striker than Aguero “the selfie specialist”.

  3. dybala..aguero…di Maria
    ,……….higuqin….
not bad though…which means once Messi will be back aguero or dybala will go to the bench
or bqnega might start ahead of aguero for now
I just hope masche and kranevitter don’t start together

  4. Bauza’s ass will be burned by the hands of Brazil and Colombia next month. We shall see what his stupid tactics do for him.

  5. Dybala for Messi, it’s not that hard coach. Correa starting? You must be joking. You already have Dybala and Higuain playing and training to ether every single day, why would you not start them against Peru? These Argentinean coaches are a weird bunch. I’m assuming he will start Zabaleta over Mercado despite the fact that everyone knows Peru will run from start to finish.
