Gerardo MARTINO to Argentina or MEXICO, Jorge SAMPAOLI to Atlanta United

Gerardo “Tata” MARTINO is rumored to be leaving his current job at Atlanta United to either coach the Argentina National Team or the Mexican National Team with Jorge SAMPAOLI coaching Atlanta United.

According to a report from TyC Sports, MARTINO will step down as coach of MLS club Atlanta United. As we reported a few days ago, Tata has been linked not only to the Argentina job but the Mexico one as well. AFA president Claudio TAPIA has spoken in the past about wanting to bring Tata back as coach of the Argentina National Team but with the Mexico FA getting involved, it could make it more difficult.

Should he step down as Atlanta United coach, former Argentina National Team manager Jorge SAMPAOLI is rumored to be taking over that position in the MLS.

  1. Co incidence…

Why it’s always happen to us Argentina Football fans? When r we gonna have a party here about Argentina senior NT winning a trophy? Frankly speaking I couldn’t enjoy any of the last 3 finals we were in. We have to cross the line somehow. Even if it by playing defensive. We have to have someone who is tactically clever to cross the line. Trophies r won’t by small margins. Small tactical decisions. I don’t know whether Tata is that one.

We’ll anyway 2019 Jan it is.let’s wait for the conclusion. Tapia is clever enough to snatchTata from Mexico arms I guess.

    • Even with Tata I have no full confidence. We need a coach that can adjust tactics according to opponents, esp in knock out games. And should have steel nerves. Obviously Sampa is not the one. Tata Iā€™m not sure, but any better choice..?

  2. Speaking of Tata/Atlanta United, what the heck ever happened to “wonderkid” Ezequiel Barco?? I know he proposed to a teammates girlfriend and was dropped but haven’t followed him since.
