Benfica have submitted a bid for River Plate right back Gonzalo Montiel.
After winning the Copa America with Argentina, Gonzalo Montiel is a wanted man. Per Gustavo Yarroch of ESPN, Benfica are interested in signing Montiel.
According to the tweet, Benfica have submitted a first bid of €1.5 million for a one year loan and the option to buy for €7 million. The bid has been rejected by River Plate. No new bid has been submitted.

Gonzalo Montiel started the Copa America final for Argentina where he had a stellar match on the right side of the back line. Playing with a bloodied leg, the 24 year old was a rock in Scaloni’s back line for the final.
Should Montiel join Benfica, he would join fellow Argentina Copa America team mate Nicolas Otamendi in the back line.
my love for football started with God of football, none other than Diego Armando Maradona. unfortunately I was abit young for 1986 world cup. I learned football by watching video cassette of maradona. my style of football has always been of Redondo. chest up and holding ball n protecting the ball with body structure. surely nothing close to the talent of Redondo. the first I cried out loud was at 1990 finals. felt being robbed by the officials. but when it comes to hockey india comes first. I felt proud when Argentina won it last time. not sure how far will India go but wish they can be champion but the almighty Australian are hard to beat. if only hockey was on grass rather than artificial field.

about men since we lost from Germany and we are out i wish you too honestly India win gold from my heart. i have friends inside here from India and i want they get happy. So i wish India win gold in men.

Neutral football fans who watched the Copa Final were extremely impressed by Montiel. He played his best match of his career that evening. That match must have raised his confidence and given his a good high pressure game experience. If he can continue to improve who knows he could be our starting RB next wc!!
😄.. India Vs Argentina in Women Hockey semis.. which team Indians here in mundo support ? Argentina win in any sports makes me happy but this time my heart is inclining towards India as the most of the Hockey girls comes from a very very poor background economically..if they win their lives change for ever financially.. seems they really worked hard for that.. really they played a great game against Australia.. feel everything is beyond our reach.. everything everyone every team have their day.. champions are decided by time..we have to wait till the time comes but keep working and trying..we can work hard but results are not decided by hard work alone..Zanetti tried n failed for years but Molina got it in very first time..in Osho’s words “you can’t give what nature don’t wanna give to someone n you can’t block what nature wanna give someone..” and yesss..we are Copa champions..made half of our lives peaceful..
