Argentina U20 win 2-1 vs. Japan, Matías Soulé and Valentín Barco score

The Argentina U20 national team won 2-1 vs. Japan on Monday with Matías Soulé of Juventus and Valentín Barco both scoring.

Argentina U20 national team coach Javier Mascherano had his team play a friendly match against Japan as the start of the U20 World Cup approaches. Javier Mascherano named his list of 21 players for the tournament and they were in action on Monday.

Javier Mascherano named the following eleven for the match against Japan:

Gomes Gerth; Giay, Di Lollo, V. Gomez, V. Barco; Miramon, Perrone, Carboni, Aguirre, Veliz, Soule

Matías Soulé of Juventus opened the scoring with a lob from outside of the penalty area which caught the goalkeeper off his line. Japan would draw level and make it 1-1, but there are no videos of the goal.

Valentín Barco would make it 2-1 and give Argentina the win with a very good effort.

Mascherano’s team play the opening match at the U20 World Cup on May 20 against Uzbekistan.
