Argentina October World Cup qualifying games announced

Argentina will be playing two World Cup qualifying games in October and the dates have been announced.

The reigning World Cup champions made it two wins out of two in September’s World Cup qualifiers and will be looking to replicate that in October. The fixture dates have been announced and Argentina will play Paraguay on October 12 at the Monumental in Buenos Aires.

Lionel Scaloni’s team will travel to Peru where they will play on October 17 in Lima. Argentina played their first World Cup qualifying match against Ecuador in a 1-0 win with Lionel Messi scoring a free kick.

Messi did not take play in the second World Cup qualifying match, a 3-0 win vs. Bolivia with Enzo Fernández, Nicolás Tagliafico and Nicolás González all scoring.

  1. Getting early points allows Scaloni the flexibility to experiment sooner than later giving us more time to try out the best combination of youthful talent and veteran experience going into Copa and then building the core for 2026

  2. The hard games are in November December. Plus this world cup will be easy to qualify for us. We should rest Messi this month, maybe he travels and plays a bit but doesn’t carry the 90 plus min burden

    • The regular MLS season ends somewhere end of October. Miami is way below the play off seeds. So, there is. chance Messi won’t play for his club for a couple of months. More time for Argentina.
