Lisandro Martínez injured, will miss October World Cup qualifiers

Lisandro Martínez is injured and will miss Argentina’s October World Cup qualifying matches.

Martínez will not be with the Argentina team in October. Manchester United announced on Friday that he he “will be out of action for an extended period” after aggravating the injury he sustained to his foot last April.

The club announced that he sustained the setback during their game vs. Arsenal but he continued to play their next two games against Brighton and Bayern Munich. They also stated that assessments are ongoing to decide what the next steps will be.

Argentina play Paraguay on October 12 in a World Cup qualifying match and a second game on October 17 against Peru.

  1. Looking forward to the Liverpool vs Tottenham match tomorrow. Romero had a horrible last match and would like to see his mental strength against Liverpool tomorrow. MacAllister mean while is slowly but consistently producing some really good performances.

  2. The intensity and physicality of EPL is taking a toll on his body! Especially when you play for a team that has to defend waves after waves of opposition attack in every match, due to poor and incompetent midfield, fatigue and injury kicks in consistently! United main defensive mid Casemiro has even stopped getting booked because he can’t even foul the opposition because of his inability to keep up with the opposition’s pace!
