Francisco Ortega of Olympiacos will be called up to the Argentina national team.
Ortega is set to be called up to the Argentina national team for the first time. According to Gastón Edul, the 24 year old left back will be included in the latest Argentina team by coach Lionel Scaloni.
The Argentine joined Olympiacos from Velez earlier this year. He was previously part of the 2019 U20 World Cup team and the last Olympic team.
His surname reminds me of the Maradona wannabe Ariel Ortega who dribbled all over the place without doing anything significant for the national team in late 90s and early 2000s. He had 2 world cup goals though.
Two weeks ago I have watched him vs West ham Europe league match and comes to my mind telling myself won’t be long before scaloni will call him since we are thin at this department
Great player! He has been very good with Olympiacos this year. Also Hezze, another Argentinian Olympiacos player is very good.
Great to hear about Ortega as i’m familiar with his name, but neversaw him play and same goes to Hezze as i belive he is much younger, right? Is Hezze also been playing/ getting regular minutes at Olympiacos and if so what is his positioning there ?
