Ángel Di María spoke about retiring from the Argentina national team after the 2024 Copa America final.

Di María will play his last ever match with Argentina on Sunday in the final of the Copa America. The 36 year old has won everything there is to win with Argentina and he has once more confirmed that Sunday will be his last match. Speaking to the media after Argentina’s 2-0 win vs. Canada, here is what he had to say:

“Whatever happens on the 14th, I think I can walk out the front door. I gave everything

“I always gave my life for this shirt. There were times when it did not touch me and lately it has. I am grateful to everyone who supported me.

“The previous generation taught me about sacrifice and not giving up. This one gave me everything I was missing. It is difficult to make it. People are used to it, but it’s not easy. I’m not ready for my last game with the national team, but it’s time”.
