The rumored Argentina eleven includes Gonzalo Montiel and Enzo Fernández starting.

Gonzalo Montiel and Enzo Fernández could both start for Argentina vs. Canada. According to Esteban Edul, Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni could be starting Montiel in place of Nahuel Molina and Enzo Fernández playing behind Alexis Mac Allister. Here is the rumored eleven:

Emiliano Martínez; Montiel, Romero, Lisandro, Tagliafico; De Paul, Enzo, Mac Allister; Messi, Julián Álvarez, Di María

  2. My big issue with Enzo Fernandez is lack of tactical discipline to stick in his position. That’s why Caicedo has been exposed whenever Enzo pushes upfront. In first 6 months at Chelsea,Enzo Fernandez did well playing deep but he lacks creativity pushing forward. Paredes deserves that spot, he provides better defensive cover.

  3. Enzo is not a proper CDM. Defensively very weak. Most importantly he is in a off form
    Don’t think this is an correct selection.

  4. De la fluente is a low profile coach. Came from youth system. He was their u23 coach for tokyo olympics where we met them in group. He has retained 7 of the 18 olympics players in this squad.

  5. I have no faith in this midfield except Macalister. RDP and Enzo were lifeless in the last match. I hope they step up though and prove me wrong.

  6. Spain play wonderful football, Argentina can do the same. Why Garnacho can’t start again Canada? Maybe Argentina is too bless with talent

    • Garnacho finishing is very poor and his decision making is still in works. His dribbling is getting better but still not good enough to take on defenders and he doesn’t have the calmness Yamal has. Having said that he has the pace to trouble any opposition and will be more effective off the bench against tired legs.

      • Yeah I agree, it’s obviously an age and maturity thing. Right now he’s shown he’s not ready to start for us, but off the bench is another matter, it could be useful today depending on how the game goes

    • Lamine Yamal shinning at 16. Why is it difficult for Argentina to trust youngsters like Echeverri,Franco Manstatuono, barco, Aaron anselmino( should he be impressive at Chelsea). This obsession with likes of Pezella,Guido Rodriguez denying young top talents like Varela, Equi Fernandez disappointed me.

      • Yamal is first line up at Barcelona. Our youngster are not even playing at top level. Do you want to risk everything for youngsters?

  7. The way Spain utilized their young prodigy Lamine Yamal in this Euro and Mbappe in 2018 by France. Pekermen totally wasted Messi in 2006! He was a far better finisher than C.Tevez Julio Cruz and Creso and would have scored the chance wasted by Tevez in the quaterfinal against Germany!

  8. We need to learn from how Spain defend and keep the possession in the last 20 minutes. We have equally good players but we are too sloppy.

    • Spain players hold on to the ball better than our players…i believe fabian ruiz and rodri control the ball much better than Enzo Perez and macallister…the best player who was really good at holding on to the ball in our team would have to be riquelme, aguero and Messi

      • Nico Williams is better than Nico Gonzales. That’s the only better player they have.

        Our midfielders are way more talented than Spain. I even believe Lo Celso is more talented than that Dani Olmo.

        The difference is DISCIPLINE and MINDSET. Our players tend to make those sloppy and pointless passes and dribble like headless chickens.

    It’s one thing to win when no one knows you. And another thing when everyone knows you and planning to stop you. That is what is special about Messi.
