Rodrigo De Paul on the Argentina team: “Let them respect us”

Rodrigo De Paul started for Argentina in their 4-1 win against Brazil and stated after the match that people should respect them.

De Paul was part of the starting eleven and played the entire match for Argentina in their massive World Cup qualifying win. Speaking after the match to the media, here is what he had to say:

“We have never disrespected anyone beforehand. Over all these years, we have been disrespected quite a lot. No one helped us. We achieved everything on our own. And we keep proving it.

“For the past six years, we have been the best national team of all. Let them respect us.”

  1. At least Ronaldo-Ronaldinho were good players and good sportsmen.

But since the time of Robinho, Neymar, Vini Jr, Raphinha etc, Brazil team has become particularly ugly, both in their activities on field and out. Beating them brings a special joy.

    • The 4R era (R9, Ronnie, Rivaldo, R.Carlos), they were likeable guys. Rivaldo even wants us to win the WC after Brazil lost. R9 can be seen watching our game in Copa and Ronnie was applauding Julian’s goal against Croatia. These are the guys who has won the WC themselves. THe current Brazil squad, they’ve achieve literally nothing but they talk as if they’re the one who conquered for the 5 stars.

      • Yup. These brazilian clowns are too used to being in carried in 14 player teams like Real Madrid. They have forgotten that football is a team game.
