Julián Álvarez scored twice and Giuliano Simeone once for Atletico Madrid in their 4-2 win against Valladolid.
Álvarez reached 26 goals with Atletico Madrid, scoring two penalty kicks in their win. With Real Valladolid leading 1-0, Atletico Madrid were awarded a penalty kick and it was Álvarez who took it.
The 25 year old would kick down the middle of the goal and score to darw Atletico Madrid level. Diego Simeone’s team would score another goal moments later.
Giuliano Simeone would receive the ball outwide, dribble inside the penalty area, cut inside and his effort owuld beat the goalkeeper to give Atletico Madrid the 2-1 lead. Simeone reached five goals with Atletico Madrid.
Valladolid would score another goal but as would Julián Álvarez. Atletico Madrid were once more awarded a penalty kick and it was the Argentine who would take it, going to the goalkeeper’s right and scoring.
Alexander Sørloth would score the last goal for Atletico Madrid in the win. Nahuel Molina would be substituted into the match.
I watched a good portion of the match and I thought Dibu did fairly well. Now one must admit that he did make an error but to say that he “cost” them the tie is unfair considering the fact that Villa should’ve done a much better job defending during their away match, either way Emery and Villa have given a very good account of themselves and should hold their heads up high and now they have to concentrate at making the top 5 in the league.
Francesco Totti expects Nico Paz do be one the best players in the world in a few years. Fabregas experimented with playing Paz as a false 9 in a few games, but then scrapped that and he is back to the number 10 role.
After Mac Allister and Enzo, it’s Nico Paz..going to be the World class young midfielder for NT. Hopefully everything goes well for him and we can be benefitted in next WC.
Paz has a lot of Totti in him and if Nico ends up being even half as good as Totti in the long run then Argnetina is in for good times. Add Soule, Almada, Simeone and maybe Castro, Buononotte and Garancho and I’d say there is a good chance that Argentina’s post-messi era (hurts to say that) could turn out bright.
Everyone criticizing Emi, Villa’s defense is poor. He, can only do so much, on the first goal the defender stuck his foot in Emi’s path, regardless, Rashford lost the ball that led to the goal and didn’t track back. Villa missed too many chances to get the tying aggregate goal. If they had tied and somehow won the match, no one would have said anything about Emi. I’ve said it before , Villa needs to get better defense in front of Emi or Emi needs to go to a bigger club, I would LOVE for him to play at Atletico Madrid but not going to happen.
@AFA..
The GK was blind for a second, since defender is obstructing him.. ball will come as a sudden.. Goal keeper couldn’t react..
Just don’t get news from sport channel and vomit here..you are an example of kind of ppl only watching football rather playing and knowing facts.. actually Unai emery praised Dibu performance last nyte
Still GK can make it , but this time it didn’t happen.. he made more than 3 1V1 save with PSG attackers..
Not a good night for EMI
How? U criticizing our emi? On what grounds? He did his best. He isn’t superman
Should have done better on 1st goal, it’s KO match of UCL.
The defender put him of.. everyone praise him for his performance.. u coming here to criticize him? Ungrateful so called supporter
