Lionel Messi posted a message to the Argentina U20 national team after the U20 World Cup final.
Messi won the 2005 U20 World Cup with Argentina and has been supporting the team at the U20 World Cup. Diego Placente’s team lost 2-0 in the final against Morocco and Messi posted on his Instagram page, supporting the team. Here is what he had to say:
“Keep your heads up, guys! You played an impressive tournament and although we all wanted to see you lift the Cup, we are left with the joy of everything you gave us and the pride of seeing how you defended the blue and white with your hearts.”

Reaching the final for the first time since 2007 is nothing to sneeze at especially when considering how miserable the u20 teams have been since the Aguero/Dimaria days, for god’s sake Argentina failed to make 2009 WC to defend their title and since then they only passed the 2nd round once (2011).
Sarco, Subi, Silvetti, Prestianni and Carrizo all had flashes of brilliance throughout the tournament but it was Delgado who was the most consistent and impressive IMO. Gorosito is another one to keep an eye out for especially considering how his position (RB) is one that Argentina is sorely lacking in.
Finally a world on Placente, he coached yet another impressive tournament (u17 and now u20) and I really believe that he should be a part of the senior team setup, not necessarily replace Scaloni (I think one of Aimar, Ayala or Samuel should take the reigns if Scaloni leaves) but act as a bridge between the junior and senior teams before eventually taking over the reigns of the NT after 2030 (assuming the world lives that long).
Prestianni was a beast yesterday on the pitch. His first touch and dribbling were amazing. Carrizzo should have given the free kick to Prestianni, since it is favourble zone to right footers
Sarco shoot the ball toward the far corner, but Prestianni was in the perfect position to receive it.
Meanwhile, Silvetti made the same mistake — he should have penetrated further into the 6-yard box. Even though the angle becomes tighter near goal, Sarco was in the right position to receive a square pass. Instead, Silvetti shoot too early.
Morocco had the mindset to play strong, and their pacey wingers made the difference on the counterattack.
I’m not going to comment on the mistakes that led to our two conceded goals — it happens, even at the senior level
Messi’s kind words came at the perfect moment—just what the players needed to stay motivated and ease the pain
