Enzo Fernández scores and assists for Chelsea in 5-1 win vs. Charlton

Enzo Fernández scored and also provided an assist in Chelsea’s 5–1 win over Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup, as the team began a new era under coach Liam Rosenior. The victory sent Chelsea into the fourth round of the competition and ended a run of five games without a win.

Two Argentine players started: Alejandro Garnacho and Facundo Buonanotte. Buonanotte played an important role and provided the assist for Chelsea’s second goal of the night.

Enzo Fernández came on in the second half and made a strong impact. He provided the assist for Chelsea’s fourth goal before scoring himself late in the match. In stoppage time, Enzo converted a penalty after Brazilian winger Estevão was fouled in the box, making it 5–1.

Garnacho started the match and was substituted 40 minutes into the second half, while Buonanotte was replaced earlier by Enzo.

Rosenior arrived from Strasbourg, where he coached Argentine players Valentín Barco and Joaquín Panichelli.

  1. In my opinion, these forwards are 100% locked in
Messi, Julin, lautaro, nico gonzlez, Nico Paz, and Gio Simeone (6/8).

Scaloni clearly takes lack of playing time very seriously, and it could hurt Almada.
Garnacho’s pace and positioning , especially his ability to find space, are genuinely exceptional, but his selection is still a question.

Mastantuono, without consistent minutes, is starting to slide down the pecking order.
Soule on the other hand, is having his best spell, for two consecutive seasons now. At this point, Scaloni almost has to pick him ahead of Almada and Mastantuono.

That leaves one final spot, which should be between
    Dybala / Almada / Mastantuono / Garnacho.

    • Right side of the field is loaded with Messi, Simeone, Soule and Mastantuono. Simeone and Soule have a similar profile. Simeone is faster while Soule is better at ball possession. Scaloni should just pick one among Simeone, Soule and Mastantuono

Nico Paz and Lo Celso have a similar profile. I feel Paz is an upgrade to Lo Celso. Scaloni should just pick one.

Left side of the field is the real problem. Nico G is shit, Almada is good in the final 3rd but is slow and he walks a lot. Garnacho is probably the fastest in the squad, and can be dangerous if he can connects well with Messi/Enzo/Alvarez/Lautaro. Garnacho is lazy when it comes to tracking back and defending corners. Scaloni should probably pick 2 among Nico G, Almada and Garnacho.

Barco should replace Acuna. Barco is more versatile. I see him as Argentina’s version of Caicedo
