Mateo Pellegrino continued his strong form in Italy by scoring the winning goal in Parma’s 2–1 away victory over Lecce in Matchday 20 of the Serie A season. The Argentine forward scored with a header to give his team all three points.
Pellegrino, who came through the youth system at Vélez and later stood out at Platense, now has six goals in 19 league matches this season. He has also added three more in the Coppa Italia. Since joining Parma in February 2025, he has scored 12 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions.
In the Serie A scoring table, which is led by fellow Argentine Lautaro Martínez with 10 goals, Pellegrino has now caught up with Matías Soulé of Roma and Nicolás Paz of Como, who also have six goals each.
Another Argentine, Lautaro Valenti, also started for Parma and played the full match. Nahuel Estévez came on in the 64th minute and Christian Ordóñez in the 81st, while Mariano Troilo remained on the bench. For Lecce, Santiago Pierotti started and was replaced after 54 minutes.
Parma’s win at the Via del Mare Stadium helped the team move away from the relegation zone. The club is now 14th with 21 points. Lecce, who finished the match with two players sent off after taking an early lead, dropped to 16th place with 17 points.
