Six players that are not part of the Argentina national team for the World Cup will be with the team for their two friendly matches before the World Cup.
The Argentina national team will play Honduras and Iceland before the World Cup and coach Lionel Scaloni has called-up six players to be with the team. According to Diego Monroig, the six players are Agustín Giay, Santiago Beltrán, Simón Escobar, Tomás Aranda, Joaquín Freitas and Nicolás Capaldo.

Paredes is set to undergo tests after experiencing discomfort in his right hamstring before Boca Juniors’ Copa Libertadores elimination against Universidad Catolica, with the results expected to be decisive in planning his preparation ahead of Argentina’s World Cup opener against Algeria on June 16, according to A24.
Paredes revealed he had been managing the hamstring overload throughout the week but refused to miss the Boca match out of pride and commitment to his club, playing the full 90 minutes despite being visibly limited in his influence. The midfielder admitted his coach had asked him to be honest about his condition and step off the pitch, but he insisted on staying on. The first indications suggest the issue is not considered extremely serious, giving Argentina cautious optimism about having their midfield captain available from the very first game of the tournament, though the clinical examinations will be crucial in determining his training load ahead of the trip to the United States.
Paredes is injured now. It’s a risk to take him to wc now. He will probably miss the first game now and potentially touch and go for the second game. Scaloni should replace him with Perrone
Why not.dybala and senesi?
If players fit, probably first line is Emi Martínez, Molina, Romero, Lisandro Martínez, Tagliafico, Mac Alister, Enzo, De Paul, Paz, Messi and Alvarez. Lautaro, Almada, Simeone, Otamendi and Palacios can come into the game. Two weaknesses of the Argentina team are, first, their relatively short average height, which against direct play allowed teams like the Netherlands and France to come back into the game in the last tournament. Second, their left side is not very strong, as they neither have a top-class defender nor a world-class natural winger there.
I was damn sure Barco would make it. There were rumours from his camp that he might not make it, but I was 200% sure Scaloni would never miss an opportunity to take a player like Barco, who is versatile and can play in multiple positions. I fully trust Scaloni, Ayala, Pablo Aimar, they know what they are doing, look how smart Scaloni has waited for all the teams’ roster and then released the squad.
