Argentina training and friendly matches could be used to determine World Cup cuts

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni could use the trainings and friendly matches to determine if someone gets cut for the World Cup.

Lionel Scaloni has several players that have fitness issues and could be cut from the team. According to ESPN Argentina, the friendly matches are going to be used to make decisions and the trainings will be difficult.

Scaloni could cut players due to their fitness.

  1. Brilliant planning by Scaloni and Tapia. Argentina qualified for the World Cup almost a year ago, giving him ample time to evaluate new players and try different tactical setups. Instead, he repeatedly selected the same core group.

    Barco and Nico Paz only got meaningful minutes in the final two friendlies. Now, with the World Cup just 12 days away, he suddenly decides it’s time to experiment with new players.

    • The core will be the same only 1-2 players who have fitness issues can be replace for eg montiel can be replaced by giay ( depending how montiel performs in fitness)
