Lionel Messi is a finalist for the 2021 FIFA Best Men’s Player of the Year award.
Messi is nominated once more for an individual award. The record breaking seven time Ballon d’Or winner is up for the FIFA Best Men’s Player of the Year trophy. It’s an award which Lionel Messi won back in 2019 and has been a finalist in five of the six editions.
The Argentine, who won the Ballon d’Or last month, is a finalist with Roberto Lewandowski and Mohamed Salah the other two. The 34 year old had a great 2021 which saw him win multiple trophies.
In 2021, Messi won the Copa America with Argentina. At that tournament, he won the MVP of the Copa America and finished as the tournament’s top scorer and player with the most assists. On an individual level, he would win the Ballon d’Or for a record seven times. At FC Barcelona, he would lift the Copa del Rey and be awarded the Pichichi for a record eight times.

Mo Salah first half year was not that great. Currently he is phenomenal. Messi had a great first half year and won Copa. His time at PSG is not up to his normal standard. Lewandowski was the most consistent in 2021.
Messi should win FIFA the Best too after Ballondor, Cristiano vs Messi era officially over and the beginning of Mbappe vs Halaand.
