Arsenal planning second bid for Lisandro Martínez of Ajax

Arsenal are planning a second bid for Lisandro Martínez after Ajax refused the first.

Lisandro Martínez could be on his way out of the Netherlands. According to Fabrizio Romano, Ajax turned down a €30 million bid for Martínez from Arsenal.

Martínez has been linked with several clubs but according to Romano, Arsenal are planning another push for him as they see him as a top target.

The Argentine joined Ajax back in 2019 and is a versatile player. While primarily being played at Ajax as a centre-back, Martínez is also capable of playing as a defensive midfielder and a left back.

With the Argentina national team, he has won the Copa America and the Finalissima.

    • he has been really bad amost becoming a flop since his return to argentina you can see MLS is a step down from argentina league .

  1. Left winger/left forward position could be our best in the next era with Nico Gonzalez/Zeballos/Garnacho/Facundo Farias maybe even with Thiago Almada or Alan Velasco.

  3. In terms of dribbling success %, Facundo Medina is fourth in top 5 league. Above him are the likes of Busquets and Koulibaly.

After worldcup, we will need new leftback. Medina is our only option right now. He played as left back in youth teams and did very well.

  4. I think at least until WC, our midfielders and defenders must be playing more AGAINST top technical coaches like Pep, Conte and Klopp. Our attackers must play FOR Pep Conte and Klopp.

Our defense must practice against high pressing possession based teams and attackers must practice with such teams (not defensive teams such as Atleti). Hope that can happen. After WC I really don’t care for couple of years.

    • Agree. We have now played 2 European sides. Italy on the decline with no good attackers and Estonia. We need a test against a side with quality attack and midfield.
There are no worries about our goalkeeper and attack. Defence is way more solid than during WC 2018. Midfield remains a doubt because there are no Argentine players dominating the midfield in big European clubs. Sure DePaul, LoCelso, Papu and Guido are good players and even hothead Paredes is worthy of selection, but none of them are dominating like DeBruyne in City or Modric in RM. Due to Nations League matches in September we cannot test against Spain, France, Germany, Croatia, Belgium or Netherlands. Next WC will be different as Conmebol teams will join Nations League in 2024.

      • Playing European teams in friendlies is useless because they play very casually and we always win comfortably. So playing against Brazil in September will be much more bigger test if it happens. Brazil is top 5 team in the world no doubt about that. And regarding European sides wc itself is scheduled like proper practice against European sides. Like in 1st round we will play Poland which should be an easy match then with every match difficulty level increases Denmark in 2nd round thn Netherlands in quarters and either Brazil or spain/Germany in semis and maybe France in final

  5. I rewatched Argentina vs Italy match and quite surprised Tagliafico was too good. I think Scaloni should think about that Left Back position. Tagliafico is good in defence and midfield and Acuna is better in final third.
Tagliafico has improved much since 2018 WC,his positioninh has become better.game reading has become better.

  6. Nothing is better than having our players partner together at the club, Lisandro and Romero will be great together.

In case it’s a mystery to you, this is the secret of Germany historically having good teams regardless of of talent, any German player who is half decent is either playing for Bayern or Dortmund. No matter where the kid grows up, Bayern snatches him the minute he proves himself.
Same with Spain of the 2008-2012, almost all played for Barcelona and Real.

  7. Liverpool pays €100 /£85 million for Uruguayan Darwin Núñez who is 22 years old and Next big thing out of Argentina J.Alvarez goes for £13 million and is still not guaranteed he will play for City or will be loaned out. Additionally, our main hitman Lautaro is valued less than Núñez at £75 !! European teams in the past 5-7 years have undermined and undervalued our talent and went for overrated Brazilians , French and Spanish players.

Regarding Licha, it will be better if he moves to Arsenal than Utd. Both teams will be playing in UFEA cup and will be fighting for top-4 but it will be less media pressure on Licha ,if he moves to Arsenal. Man.Utd is extremely toxic club and is under extreme scrutiny of fans and media and every Argentine should stay away from that team. However, if Spurs are serious about him then he should choose them.

    • Julian alaverz will have more game time as man City already rejected loaning him out plus jesus and sterling will move out, add to that pep Guardiola rates Julian so let’s just wait before we make conclusions.

      • More than five European clubs have approached Man City since February to sign Julián Álvarez on loan for the next season, including Premier League clubs too. 🕷 #MCFC

Always same answer: no way, he’s staying. That’s why Man City are prepared to sell Gabriel Jesus and Sterling. https://t.co/cKghy1oTx8

  8. According to the latest reports, the Spurs is unlikely. The Spurs really want at least a left footed defender to replace Davies but they have a long list of players: Bastoni, Badiashvile, Ndicka, Zabarnyi, Hienchope, Lenglet, and Licha Martinez. They also want Bremer if they can’t get one of those above.

Arsenal makes Licha Martinez their number one target and already submits an offer, so at this moment, Arsenal is more likely.

I would be extremely happy if Licha goes to Spurs as I know it would be very easy to replace Ben Davies in the starting line up. But the move is unlikely.

Too bad because the Spurs does not need a super aggressive defender like Cuti. They need someone the opposite, a ball playing defender who is calm and is good at distributing the ball. That is 100% Licha!

    • I”m not big fan of Arteta or arsenal but it was Arteta who saved emi martinez career which arg nt befitted from it.
As licha it’s simple he must move from Eredivisie to better league and epl is the best one atm in terms of everything, ideally man utd will be good destination solely on Erik ten Hag who knows licha better than any other manager and will help him to settle quickly. But if arsenal sign him it won’t worry me either cuse I’m confident licha ability as footballer.

  9. What kinda game is sure playing here??
    They have Davies
    Davidson Sanchez barely play.
Eric dyer always suspect but he always play
Unless Conte wanna bring com competitions
