Cristian Romero commented on Argentina’s 3-1 win against Switzerland at the World Cup.
Romero started Argentina’s 3-1 win against Switzerland but was substituted out for Nicolas Otamendi in extra time. Speaking to Tele Fe after the match, here is what he had to say:
“We are not fully aware of what we are achieving. I feel an immense pride in being part of this national team. Sometimes we don’t play well but we pour our hearts out against anyone and whatever comes our way.
“Thrilled that the goals went to Julian and Lautaro. We are delighted. I hope everyone can relate to us. We have made it to the final four, we are not settling for this and we want more.
“The match against England is going to be incredibly tough, just like all the opponents. We have a very difficult game ahead against a strong opponent.”

Cuti was the only player today who could not be bullied by the physical presence of the Swiss. Otherwise everyone struggled. In such matches individual finesse comes to the rescue. Alvarez’s goal is a proof of that.
I’m glad you noticed that. Norway would have been a nightmare.
