Lionel Messi was presented the MLS Golden Boot award.
Messi was given the Golden Boot award prior to him scoring two goals for Inter Miami in their 3-1 win against Nashville in the MLS Playoffs. The 38 year old was presented the award by MLS Commissioner Don Garber.
The Argentine scored 29 goals in 28 regular season games with Inter Miami.

Messi had two goals in Inter Miami’s win against Nashville in the MLS Playoffs to give them the 1-0 lead in the best of three series. The first team to reach two wins in the three matches will qualify for the next round of the MLS Playoffs.
With the score at 0-0, it was a cross into the penalty area by Luis Suárez which found Messi and he would score a header to give Inter Miami the 1-0 lead. At 1-0, Messi would play a pass in to Fray who would cross it to Tadeo Allende and he would score a header for Inter Miami’s second goal of the match.
At 2-0 for Inter Miami, Jordi Alba would cross inside the penalty area but it was spilled by the goalkeeper. Messi would be the first to the ball and the Argentine would score his second goal of the match.
Nasvhille would score one but Inter Miami would win and take the lead in their series. Rodrigo De Paul also started the match for Inter Miami while Mateo Silvetti was substituted into the match.
The Argentine was awarded the MLS Golden Boot before the match.
Osvaldo Godoy of Mundo Albiceleste will be present at the match and Mundo Albiceleste will have a live discussion prior to the game at Chase Stadium in Florida. Both Messi and Rodrigo De Paul are fit and expected to play.
Inter Miami announced on Thursday that Messi renewed his contract with the club. The match begins at 8:00 pm Eastern.
