Paulo Dybala scores for AS Roma in 1-0 win vs. Sassuolo

Paulo Dybala scored the only goal in Roma’s 1-0 away win over Sassuolo in the eighth round of Serie A.

The Argentine forward found the net in the 16th minute, reacting quickly inside the box to a rebound left by the opposing goalkeeper. After scoring, he celebrated by placing the ball under his shirt in dedication to his partner, Oriana Sabatini, as they await the birth of their daughter.

Dybala started the match, completing 22 of 28 passes before being substituted in the 66th minute by Matías Soulé. The victory keeps Roma in second place in the Serie A table.

Pablo Maffeo scores for Mallorca in 1-1 draw vs. Levante

The match between Mallorca and Levante at Son Moix ended in a 1-1 draw, with Pablo Maffeo scoring a fantastic equalizer for the home team.

In the second half, Maffeo leveled the score in the 78th minute with a left-footed shot from outside the box that beat the goalkeeper. The result leaves both teams tied in the fight to move up the table in La Liga.

The Spanish right-back, who holds Argentine nationality, has previously been called up by Lionel Scaloni, keeping alive his hopes of earning another future call-up to the Argentina national team.

Nicolás Otamendi scored for Benfica and Gianluca Prestianni had an assist in their 5-0 win against Arouca.

Otamendi, Enzo Barrenechea and Gianluca Prestianni all started for Benfica. With Benfica leading 1-0, Gianluca Prestianni was fouled inside the penalty area and Benfica were awarded a penalty kick. Vangelis Pavlidis scored his second goal of the match.

At 2-0, Benfica were awarded a corner kick. A cross into the penalty area found Otamendi and the Argentine would score a header to give Benfica the 3-0 lead.

With Benfica leading 3-0, Prestianni clipped the ball to Vangelis Pavlidis who scored his third goal of the match.

Alejandro Garnacho scores first goal for Chelsea in 2-1 loss vs. Sunderland

Alejandro Garnacho scored his first goal for Chelsea, but it wasn’t enough as the team fell 2-1 to Sunderland at Stamford Bridge on Matchday 9 of the Premier League.

The Argentine international, born in Madrid, opened the scoring just four minutes into the match. Playing on the left side, Garnacho dribbled past his defender with a step-over move and fired a low left-footed shot past Dutch goalkeeper Robin Roefs.

It took Garnacho seven matches to find the net since joining Chelsea in late August after leaving Manchester United. Chelsea also featured Enzo Fernández in the starting lineup.

Lionel Messi presented MLS Golden Boot award

Lionel Messi was presented the MLS Golden Boot award.

Messi was given the Golden Boot award prior to him scoring two goals for Inter Miami in their 3-1 win against Nashville in the MLS Playoffs. The 38 year old was presented the award by MLS Commissioner Don Garber.

The Argentine scored 29 goals in 28 regular season games with Inter Miami.
