In addition to those scored on Saturday (and here), there were a few more goalscorers in Europe this weekend.

Beginning with Diego SIMEONE’s Atletico Madrid, Nicolas GAITAN scored twice and Angel CORREA grabbed a goal as well for Atletico Madrid in their 7-1 thrashing against Granada.

In Germany, Pablo DE BLASIS scored for FSV Mainz in a 2-1 win against Darmstadt.

Runner up at the 2014 World Cup, Hugo CAMPAGNARO scored (and also had an own goal) for Pescara in their 1-1 draw against Sampdoria.

Match Highlights: Ignacio PIATTI, Rogelio FUNES MORI scores twice, more

In the America’s, it there were lots of goals to be scored in the MLS and the Mexican league.

Starting with the MLS (for a Canadian club), Ignacio PIATTI scored twice for the Montreal Impact (now taking him to 17 goals this season) as they drew 2-2 against Toronto FC.

Still in the MLS, Maxi URRUTI scored for FC Dallas in their 2-1 win against Seattle.

In Mexico, Rogelio FUNES MORI (Ramiro FUNES MORI’s twin brother) scored twice for Monterey in their 4-1 win against Jaguares de Chiapas in Mexico.

Still in Mexico, Franco JARA of Pachuca scored twice in a 3-0 win against Santos Laguna.

Always in Mexico (yes, there’s a lot of Argentine’s there), a great goal by Fabian ESPINDOLA for Club Necaxa in a 2-0 win against Tigres.

Edgardo BAUZA to play 4-4-2, 6 new to be called

Speaking with Fox, BAUZA has stated that he will play a 4-4-2 against Brazil next month. Furthermore, he also mentioned that there would not be players dropped from the team but that six new players will be called-up.

The list for next month’s matches is expected to be announced next week.

Claudio UBEDA named new Argentina U20 coach

2

Argentina’s U20 team has a new coach and the process of how he was chosen was made in typical AFA fashion.

Former Racing Club player Claudio UBEDA (who’s only managerial experience is coaching Huracan in 2008) has been named the new coach by the AFA. A total of 44 coaches sent in projects to the AFA to be the new Argentina U20 team. However, the AFA picked UBEDA, who was not among those 44 and he did not send in a folder with a project.

Gerardo SALORIO and Fernando BATISTA will be part of his coaching staff. In January, there’s the U20 South American championship which is going to run between January 13 until February 5 in Ecuador.

Paulo DYBALA double, Lionel MESSI scores, AGUERO misses, more

31

Paulo DYBALA continues to show why he should start for Argentina, Lionel MESSI scores 3 minutes back from injury, Manuel LANZINI scored his second goal of the season for West Ham while Sergio AGUERO missed yet another penalty.

Paulo DYBALA scored a fantastic free kick and added a second from the penalty spot to give Juventus a 2-1 win against Udinese.

Lionel MESSI didn’t wait long before registering his first goal back from injury. Three minutes into his return, MESSI scored past former Argentine international goalkeeper German LUX (goalkeeper at the 2005 Confederations Cup) in Barcelona’s 4-1 win against Deportivo.

Manuel LANZINI secured the victory for the Hammers in West Ham’s 1-0 win away to Crystal Palace. LANZINI was at the end of a great move to side foot it into the back of the net.

The terrible week for Sergio AGUERO continues. After having missed a penalty kick for Argentina (not that I have to remind anyone here) against Paraguay earlier in the week, AGUERO missed his second of the week in Manchester City’s 1-1 draw at home to Everton.
