Paulo DYBALA hat trick against Sassuolo

Not a bad way to start off your 100th appearance for your club as DYBALA put on a five star performance!

Not to be outdone by his Argentina National Team mate Sergio AGUERO, Paulo DYBALA powered Juventus passed Sassuola with a hat trick, scoring a sensational goal in the process.

He opened the scoring in the 16th minute with a brilliant long-range effort with his ferocious left foot which also turned out to be his 50th goal for the club. The scoreline was 1-0 at halftime in favor of Juventus.

It didn’t take long for them to double their lead in the second half. DYBALA slotted the ball into the bottom corner from inside the penalty area in the 49th minute. The home side immediately hit back after a mistake from Gianlugi BUFFON which allowed Matteo POLITANO to pull one back for Sassuolo.

Then in the 63rd minute, DYBALA was brought down about 22 yards away from goal. He took the resulting free kick in which he curled the ball past Andrea CONSIGLI to complete his hat-trick.

After the match, Paulo spoke to Sky Sport and he was asked about being compared to MESSI. Here’s what he had to say:
“Every footballer has his own style. I am DYBALA and he’s MESSI. He has won five Ballon d’Or and nobody has ever done what he’s done so far.”

AGUERO scores hat trick in City’s six star performance

Sergio AGUERO scored a hat trick as Manchester City rab riot over Watford at Vicarage Road, moving 3 points clear at the top of the Premier League table with an extra game played.

City were growing in confidence throughout the game and it was only a matter of time before they broke the deadlock. AGUERO did just that in the 27th minute after heading passed Heureho GOMES off a Kevin DE BRUYNE free kick.

It didn’t take long for him to double the lead after some good work from Gabriel JESUS and David SILA on the left, AGUERO just needed to tap in the 31st minute. Kun then became provider after giving a through pass for JESUS to fire into the bottom corner in the 37th minute.

City’s fourth goal was scored by Nicolas OTAMENDI who headed in the 63rd minute courtesy of a SILVA’s cross. However, the party wasn’t over just yet as City were about to pile more misery on the home side.

With 9 minutes left to play, Kun AGUERO launched himself into a MARADONA/MESSI-que mode by passing passed Kyle WALKER and Christian KABASELE to drive a low shot beyond the advancing GOMES. Hat trick completed and his tally with City is now at 175 goals. He is now just 3 goals shy of breaking Erik BROOK’s 177 goals which has stood since 1939.

In the 89th minute, Raheem STERLING was fouled in the penalty box and went on to complete City’s rout after scoring from the spot.

In an interview with The Guardian, Gonzalo HIGUAIN talks about his football idol, the finals with Argentina and more.

A polarizing figure in Argentinian football, with some who don’t forgive his misses in the final of tournaments and others who will defend him to the death, no matter what you think of HIGUAIN, some of his numbers are impressive. Over 100 goals for Real Madrid and a Serie A record breaking season with Napoli, it’s fair to say that many number 9’s in world football would love to have his numbers. In the interview, Gonzalo stated that the Brazilian RONALDO was his idol growing up.

“I’ve watched two million of his goals. For me, he’s the best ever, by a big margin.”

If the missed chances for Argentina eat him up or if he feels cursed in the biggest games.

“No. I always believe that it’s beautiful to win important matches, but it’s also very important simply to reach those moments. I truly believe that. Juve have played two Champions League finals in three years. That is very difficult to do.”

On life:

“On a human level, I would prefer to be a good father to my child, when the time comes that I have one, and to be a good man. When you do good things outside in your life, then work will repay you. When you do bad things outside in your life, then it’s hard for your work to go well.

“Maybe there are one or two people who break that rule, OK. But if you are OK with yourself, if you carry a positive energy, eight times out of 10 that will go well. That’s why I think that the way we act on a human level is very important. And many times people don’t treat that like it’s an important thing. They treat work as being the more important thing than the way they are as humans.”

Despite being a key figure for Argentina the last few years, he has been left out of the recent national team squad.

Fernando GAGO will make his return to the Argentina National Team.

Argentina’s move to La Bombonera has coincided with a Boca boy’s return to the team. With the European based list being announced earlier today, the domestic based squad is yet to be announced. However, according to Cesar Luis MERLO of TyC Sports, Jorge SAMPAOLI will call him up for next month’s World Cup Qualifiers while Milton CASCO has a chance of making the team as well.

GAGO has played 61 matches for his country (excluding youth matches) with his last one coming two years ago on September 8, 2015 in a 2-2 draw against Mexico.

German PEZZELLA, Alejandro GOMEZ and a few others have made the Argentina squad.

The list is out and while there’s no Ezequiel GARAY yet (Jorge SAMPAOLI reportedly wants to speak with GARAY first before including him), there are some defenders which are back in the team and some that are fresh faces under Jorge SAMPAOLI. As reported, Gonzalo HIGUAIN did not make the squad but Sergio AGUERO does retain his spot in the team. Here’s the list:
