Alexandro Bernabei named best left back in the Brasileirão

Alexandro Bernabei has been named as the best left back in the Brasileirão.

Bernabei is on loan at Internacional in Brazil from Celtic in Scotland and the 24 year old played 23 matches, scoring three goals and had five assists. He is part of the Brasileirão eleven.

He is not the only Argentine that makes the Brasileirão team, center back Alexander Barboza of Botafogo is also included.

Thiago Almada wins Brasileirão with Botafogo

Just a week after helping Botafogo win their first-ever Copa Libertadores, Thiago Almada secured the 2024 Brasileirão by defeating São Paulo 2-1 at home on the final matchday. This victory gave the club its third Brazilian League title in history, adding to their wins in 1968 and 1995.

The 23-year-old Argentine midfielder played a key role for the Brazilian team this season and added another major trophy to his collection:

Kylian Mbappé spoke about playing alongside Lionel Messi at Paris Saint-Germain and how it was with Messi after Argentina won the World Cup.

Mbappé and Lionel Messi played together at Paris Saint-Germain for two seasons and during their time together, they played against one another in the final of the 2022 World Cup. Speaking in an interview on CliqueTV, here is what Mbappé had to say about playing with Messi:

“Messi does everything well. We can all learn from a guy like him.

“I would go to him and ask him “How do you this? How do you do that?”

He also spoke about speaking to Messi after the World Cup final when they were in France:

“The day I saw Messi after the World Cup, I was raging. But that final brought us closer, we laughed.

“He told me “You already won one, I can win one too.”

De Paul made it two goals in two matches for Atletico Madrid in their win. With the score at 0-0, the Argentine received the ball outside of the penalty area and his effort beat the goalkeeper, doing into the side of the goal to give Atletico Madrid the 1-0 lead.

Giuliano Simeone and Julián Álvarez also started the match for Atletico Madrid while Ángel Correa was substituted in and Gonzalo Montiel was substituted into the match.

AFA signs agreement for new home of Argentina National Team

The Argentine Football Association (AFA) signed an agreement with the Province of Buenos Aires to make the Estadio Único Diego Armando Maradona in La Plata the new home of the Argentina national team starting in 2025.

The stadium has 53,000 seats, which is 30,000 fewer than El Monumental, the current home of the team.

The venue will host all categories of the national team, the Copa Argentina, and potentially serve as a venue for the final of the Copa Sudamericana or Libertadores.

The stadium hosted the U-20 World Cup in 2023.
