Javier Zanetti has spoken about Lionel Messi playing at the World Cup with the Argentina national team.

Zanetti played in the Argentina national team with Lionel Messi and played over 140 matches iwth the Argentina national team. Speaking in an interview with El Grafico, here is what he had to say about Messi:

“At 38 years old, I see Messi as very eager and passionate; he is our captain and a great leader.

“Leo is capable of at least trying to give his best, as he always has done; hopefully we will be able to enjoy him in the next World Cup.

“He is very intelligent and will take care of all the details. He will take the necessary precautions to arrive at the World Cup in the best possible shape.

“In Qatar, I hugged him and thanked him because he made millions of Argentinians happy who wanted to see him lift the World Cup.”

José Manuel López scored for Palmeiras in their 5-1 win against Bragantino.

López played for the Argentina national team in their 6-0 win against Puerto Rico and less than 24 hours later, was back in Brazil, playing and scoring for Palmeiras. The 24 year old started the match on the bench and was substituted in for Palmeiras.

With Palmeiras leading 3-1, Vitor Roque’s effort on goal was saved by the goalkeeper but José Manuel López would score the rebound to give Palmeiras the 4-1 lead. Agustín Giay started the match for Palmeiras while Aníbal Moreno, who also played for Argentina against Puerto Rico, was substituted into the match.

Lionel Messi has congratulated the Argentina U20 national team on making the final of the U20 World Cup.

The Argentina national team won 1-0 against Colombia to qualify for the U20 World Cup final on Sunday. Messi’s Inter Miami club team mate Mateo Silvetti had the goal for Argentina as Diego Placente’s team won their semi final match.

Messi himself won the 2005 U20 World Cup and took to his Instagram to congratulate the team. Messi posted a picture of Silvetti and the team celebrating with the caption “Let’s go, to the final! Congratulations everyone! Grande Silvetti!”

Matías Soulé: “I want to play for Argentina”

Matías Soulé has stated that he wants to play for the Argentina national team.

Soulé confirmed that he does not want to play with Italian national team but with the world champions. Matías Soulé’s agent stated at the start of the month that 22 year old is eligible to playing with Italy and hinted that it could be a possibility.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni spoke at a press conference on Monday about Matías Soulé, stating that he is on the Argentina national team’s radar. Matías Soulé spoke to Il Messaggero, here is what he had to say:

“I want to play for Argentina. I’m very grateful to Italy, but I want to keep working to earn a call-up from Lionel Scaloni.

“I understand it’s not easy because there are so many great players available, but that’s my goal.”

Gianluca Prestianni spoke about the Argentina national team after their 1-0 win against Colombia at the U20 World Cup.

Prestianni had the assist for Mateo Silvetti’s goal for Argentina in the semi finals against Colombia as the team qualified for the U20 World Cup final. Speaking on the AFA’s official website after the match, here is what Prestianni had to say:

“The first half was very tough. In the second half, we set out to change the team’s attitude.

“This group is crazy. We kill ourselves for each other.

“We always try to prove ourselves on the field. We’re going to try to win the World Cup for our people.”

“It was very even, both teams had many chances to score, but luckily we were able to strike first and Barbi saved everything, to be honest, it’s thanks to him too.
