Argentine striker Julián Carranza has joined the Leicester City on a one-year loan from Feyenoord, with an option to buy at the end of the season. The move comes as the Foxes say goodbye to their all-time top scorer, Jamie Vardy, who has left for a new challenge in Italy with Cremonese.

Carranza started his career at Banfield before moving to Inter Miami and later the Philadelphia Union in Major League Soccer. In Philadelphia, he made a big impact with 43 goals and 20 assists in 95 matches. Last year, Feyenoord signed him to replace Santiago Giménez, but after limited minutes in the Netherlands, Carranza chose England as his next step.

“I’m very happy and excited to be here,” Carranza told Leicester’s media team. “Everyone knows what this club means. Playing in England is a dream for every player, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Leicester are currently fourth in the Championship after four games, and the hope is that Carranza’s goals can help push the team back into the Premier League.
