  1. Abit annoyed I missed messi first goal. He will always be the point of difference. In the first half players looked Abit unsettled. Rodrigo DePaul had a great performance too. Just praying the team remains injury free. Should Argentina win their second game, scaloni should do squad rotation and rest key players.

    • After winning the 2nd game.
Everyone must be rested. This is a long campaign & we are already joining the race with 6 days short.

  2. Job done!
Clean sheet, no yellow card, substitutes got good minutes and the GOAT gets a hat trick and the record at 39 on the opener.
Mr. Scaloni will be super happy.
Best for our next group games…

  3. Vamo vamo! God reaching new heights!
Scaloni doing the right thing by rotating the players early and giving much needed minutes to Nico G and Spider, Almada looked slightly out of place today and hopefully Montiel is fine – Molina is looking better though and Taglia’s absence is felt in left side. Would we see some glimpses of Nico P Barco or Flaco?

  4. Wow another brilliant ball from maclister messi almost scored the hatrick
Maclister is in beast mode in defending or attacking

  5. Wow what a long ball that by emi martinez it went staight to messi pinpoint accuracy seems like he worked hard on the long balls🔥

  6. So far so good and specially From the first half of this tournament, because opening game’s are allways difficult and Algeria is very good team. Also Argentina has not faced an opponent of this calibre for while too. Just need to be smart and keep on controlling the game with ball. Great pass from RDP to Boss and so well taken shot by Messi! 🇦🇷⚽️🇦🇷Vamos ARgentina🇦🇷🙌🇦🇷

  7. I’m worried about lautaro martinez performance. Also Messi and Almeda in upfront is not a good option. Messi needs a fast winger who can support him. Almeda and messi is similar type.

    • Lautaro has done very well in terms of link up play. That is his specialty.

He has received too little service to score.

  8. Just got a feeling Panichelli injury is a huge huge miss for argentina nobody can be as clinical in finishing as him..
He can shoot with both feet and excellent header also. Something lautaro and alverz will struggle

    • What’s the benefit of talking ab Panichelli who is injured for months and not in squad??? Be in present broski

  9. Team looks a bit rusty but that’s probably because it’s first match and they are cautious after 2022 experience. No complaints but Lautaro hasn’t done anything till now.

    • Lautaro is sitting back and not pressing upfront. At least, he can do that when other things are not going right. We need Barco to replace Almada and Lopez to replace Lautaro (assuming Alvarez is yet not fully fit), Otherwise Algeria is asking lots of questions to our defence.

  10. Montiel with a very good tackle towards the end to save what could have been serious trouble. Scaloni (once again, more often than not) gets things right. No point in Montiel trying to do risky attacks when Algeria have pacy wingers and we are leading. All in all, very nice performance till half time from the boys. Mac Allister had a couple of early nervous moments, but he has also settled in nicely. Medina providing width in attacks. The connection between Messi and Enzo could be better (Messi was telling Enzo he should have run after a 1-2), but nothing alarming since this is the first match in a long long tournament.

    • Is Almada playing? I havent’t seen him. Has anyone? Was he the guy who needed 5 goals one on top of another to score with that shot? We need a Barco or Nico Paz early in the second half. Someone who would not sit back like Lautaro and do the pressing upfront. Otherwise Algeria is having easy transition into our box like waves. \

Other than the goal and few good touches we did not so justice to our name in any way. Our defence is looking pretty vulnerable. All the body faints of Algeria worked.

  11. For the record if it was possible I’d still take DiMaria over Nico Gonzalez at this stage of his career. We didn’t appreciate DiMaria enough until Scaloni used him properly.

  12. Licha was ALWAYS going to start over Otamendi. Scaloni basically shifted to this in 2023, with the injury being the interruption. Otamendi is way too reckless in critical moments.

  13. Only about an hour to go. Can’t wait to see Argentina play again in the big stage.
BTW, is Alvarez still not fully fit?

    • Calm down dude. You’ve been shitting on Almada for a while now, and it’s getting tiresome. Scaloni knows more than you about the team’s balance. If he plays badly, we have TONS to replace him in the second half. He’s consistently played well for NT (forget club) for the past 12-16 months and knows the system inside out. This will also allow the team to shift to a 4-3-3 when attacking, as Almada can operate on the wing too.

    • Almada plays well with the team, and connects the midfield and attack well… i am not worried. this is good selection. Vamos Albiceleste.
