Federico Redondo spoke about joining Inter Miami, Lionel Messi, the Olympics and Sergio Busquets.

Redondo joined Inter Miami from Argentinos Juniors and will be making his debut in the Concacaf Champions Cup against Nashville on Thursday. The 21 year old is the son of Argentina and Real Madrid legend, Fernando Redondo. Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, he was asked about his father. Here is what he had to say:

“I’d say I inherited his mentality and his personality. And well, every player is different and I know I’m going to make my own career.”

The Argentine was also asked about Lionel Messi.

“Obviously [Messi] carries a lot of weight. He’s the best player in history and sharing the field with him is a dream.”

When asked about fellow midfielder Sergio Busquets:

“Sergio is obviously a player I’ve always admired, especially because we share the same position. He’s always been a reference. It’ll be an honor to learn from him.”

About joining Inter Miami and where he will play:

“I’ll play where they need me. In Argentinos I played as a [six], a double [six], internally on the right, internally on the left. I feel comfortable in every position.”

“The truth is I’m available, physically I feel good and I hope to help as much as necessary.”

He was also asked about going to the Olympics or staying with Inter Miami:

“We haven’t talked about that yet. My head is here now, and when the time comes if they call me, we’ll talk about it then.”

New Argentina national team training kit leaked

A new Argentina national team training kit has leaked.

Argentina will have a new pre-match attire and it has been leaked. According to Footy Headlines, one will be a pre-match attire with a sleeveless black top with blue incorporated and the AFA emblem with the three stars and Adidas logo in gold.

The second is a gold top with the AFA emblem in silver and some blue is also set to be worn by Lionel Scaloni’s team.

Mascherano will be able to count on three overage players for the 2024 Olympics in Paris and he has commented on a few of them. Speaking in an interview with TyC Sports, the Argentina Olympic coach spoke about Lionel Messi possibly being at the Olympics later this year. Here is what he had to say:

“I spoke with Leo, we invited him to accompany us at the Olympic games and we both agreed to speak again.”

The two time Olympic gold medalist was part of the 2008 team which won gold and he won it with Lionel Messi and Ángel Di María. When asked about Ángel Di María possibly joining the team, here is what he had to say:

“I also spoke to Ángel, he thanked me but he told me that he wants to let another kid have that experience.”

He also commented on Emiliano Martínez:

“Dibu is among the three best goalkeepers in the world, if not the best. How can we not take into account his desire to be at the Olympics?”

Nicolás Valentini has replaced Marcos Senesi in the Argentina national team.

Valentini has been called up to the Argentina national team. The official Argentina account posted that the 22 year old from Boca Juniors has been called up by Lionel Scaloni.

Marcos Senesi was substituted out injured for Bournemouth in their last match.

Marcos Senesi was substituted out injured for Bournemouth and did not finish their match against Burnley. Andoni Iraoli spoke with the Daily Echo about Senesi. Here is what he had to say:

“I think it’s a clear strain in the hamstring.

“I hope it’s not very big. It’s a very bad moment for us, collectively because we don’t have too many defenders right now.

But also for him personally, because he has been called again with the national team, with Argentina.

“And I hope it’s not big. And I hope he can go there and play with his national team. That is, I know, something very important for him.”

Senesi was also called up to the Argentina national team by coach Lionel Scaloni for the two matches this month against El Salvador and Costa Rica.
